Yeah, I would say that’s probably enough plants for a while. And probably a good thing I was planning on filling out two tanks with them 🙄
The shipping box was larger than expected when it showed up, but probably half of it was filled with shredded cardboard. That’s still 5 bags that size full of impressively big healthy plants.
I did add a couple of extra plants I specifically wanted, but most of this is “just” their MIXED BOX OF AQUARIUM PLANTS - 50L TANK–one of the smaller options. Which looks like more than enough to fill out the 60L and 180L both (with some existing plants of course). That’s what I was hoping for, but it’s still more plant for the money than I was expecting.
(Starting from scratch, IMO that size collection would maybe give you enough for a decently planted tank up to 100L or so. Without having to wait too long for it to grow in.)
I don’t recall ordering any plants from AquaEssentials before, just fertilizers and some other aquarium supplies. Partly because I’m cheap, and their plants are not particularly. *wry smile*
But, judging by this order? This description isn’t nearly as overblown as it sounds. (“You’ve just found the finest, strongest and healthiest aquarium plants you will EVER see in the world…”) I figured these should be good quality, but the condition is pretty impressive. Especially after spending like a day and a half getting moved around in a box in fairly hot weather for here.
Definitely not regretting the little splurge, though it’s looking like a pretty busy evening ahead! I was already planning to clean the bigger tank tonight, since I’m on my own, but we’ll see how energy holds out to combine the jobs. The water change may just have to wait a day or two.
