Dear Vector prime, Has there ever been a situation where a binary bonded duo ended up falling in love with each other? Can a bot fall in love with the person who makes up their head, gun or engine?

Dear Master Mushy,

It has happened numerous times throughout the multiverse—after all, it takes a special kind of connection to be able to become one with another, so it is not too surprising that sometimes this may become romantic.

Toxin, the renegade Autobot scientist, and his Headmaster, the Quintesson deserter Slitherfang, had originally formed a partnership merely to help protect one another. But as time went on, sharing their thoughts, the two felt a kinship that was more than just practical. They found themselves finishing each other's threats, even when not bonded, and eventually decided to bond together in marriage, and not just physically.

Hotlink and their Targetmaster companions, Heartburn and Heatstroke, were always flirty with each other. Bitstream would refuse to be in the same room as them when they were working on a project, as spare parts and innuendos flew. No one was surprised when the three of them became a trine; Hotlink had always been happy to note she had two hands.

Riptide and Aquastar became bonded out of necessity. Riptide's transformation cog had become unstable, and he needed a replacement, and the Powermaster warrior volunteered. Over the long years, they'd bonded over their shared history, an admiration of the peace and beauty of the oceans, and a love of spectacular sunsets. It took them by surprise when they woke up together after one private trip, and realised it just felt natural and they were happy together. Unlike the others, there was no spark of burning passion, just the warm joy of finding someone who was perfect for you, and you were perfect for in turn.
