Long ago, the gods gifted the dragons five artifacts to sustain life in their isolated wasteland. One day someone steals one of them, endangering the dragons. An elven alchemist referred to as Pidge, an instinctual dragon named Keith, an adventurous Nalquadi called Lance, and a kind human named Hunk band together as an unlikely group to protect the stolen artifact in order to return it to the dragons. However, the greed of others follow as a powerful shifter and shadow elf trail after them, aiming to collect the artifact at any cost.
That’s right! Anticipated for December 7th, a new fic is going up! And it’ll be a fantasy! You’ve possibly seen some arts for it, but now that MitD is finished, TDatA gets to go up! And I look forward to being able to share this fic with y’all and work on it further.

Elvish Pidge, dragon Keith, human Hunk, aquatic unnamed race Lance, tis a good start!
I had originally had a full thing for Pidge and Keith, showing them from the side and behind, but I decided not to fully go with that yet, just stuck with their front views.

Things are subject to change since I’m still working things out.
Keith is a smidgen taller than Lance. And Pidge is so short.

Drawing Lance and Pidge’s AU versions I did before for a fantasy AU, I wanted some angst, so! We have Lance in a dying forest with poor Pidge. Though water is supposed to help her recover, nothing is helping the poor fairy.
Another AU? Apparently.
Hey all! Whew! Spending several hours with minimal breaks because what is self-care, right?, I finally got this finished up. An elemental AU where Allura, a paladin, is destined to protect the five elemental guardians and keep her planet balanced and at peace.
Some people were very supportive of me and even helping with some things as I was drawing this, and I’m glad to have been talking with them throughout this project; they made it so much easier and worth it. Hopefully y’all know who you are. ^_^
Also! This AU has a map! Names come from ones we see in canon series (both show and comics). Names do not included the swamp lands and general name of Mermaid Bay.
If/when I get to writing, map may be updated.
Anyway, how about some notes, hmm?

Allura
she is a trained paladin; she comes from a long line of paladins on her father’s side
Her mother is the queen of the Altean Kingdom, Arus
Allura herself does not go by a royal title
Alfor, Allura’s father, married into royalty
Alfor is also a paladin and seeing to Allura’s training
Allura is sometimes called Sir Allura or Milady when spoken to by villagers/servants
She has the ability to heal the guardians if they grow weak or are injured
Due to still being young (though still considered an adult) and training, her healing abilities have yet to reach their full potential
She can feel when any of the guardians are in trouble/hurt
Shiro
He is the guardian of the Sky realms. (Altean Plains)
Like Allura, he feels a connection to each of the other guardians
Working together, Allura’s healing capabilities can increase
Shiro and Allura grew up together
Though a guardian, Shiro learns to fight alongside Allura
He is sometimes referred to as Sir Shiro
Has strong magical ties to manipulating the air and wind around him
Denies making his cape blow behind him for dramatic flare
Keith
Guardian of fire
Lives in the Marmora Valley of the Yendailian volcanic chain
Dragon-kin (a race of dragon shape-shifters)
Part Galra (desert folk) on his mother’s side
His father is dragon-kin; his mother is a dragon rider
Galra were known for their skills in bonding with and flying on dragons
Dragons help the mountain folk with creating weapons and armor by heating the forges
Cannot fully shift into a dragon due to his age
“Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.”
Can still fly short distances with his wings
Accidentally a hoarder
Loves gold and weapons
Especially loves swords and knives
Manages to convince Hunk to forge new weapons for his collection
Sometimes accidentally melts them when he gets too excited
“I know I had a certain gold coin but it’s missing? Was Pidge visiting?”
Likes to soak in magma/lava pits
Able to do this due to his dragon lineage
Feels closer elemental bond with Hunk than with Lance and Shiro
Has close emotional bond with Shiro
Hunk
Guardian of the earth/land/rocks
Lives in Rygnirath Valley, surrounded by mountains
Mountain folk
Great forgers of weapons and armor due to their understanding and mining capabilities of the ore
Doesn’t like to hurt people
Gives the best hugs
Feels close elemental bond with Keith
Has close emotional bond with Lance and Pidge
Fond of the mountain/cave folk of the Balmeran Ridge
Not exactly fond of their cooking, but he’s too nice to turn away offered food
Likes to visit the Altean Plains and Dalterion Forest for various cooking ingredients
As skilled at identifying herbs and spices as he is minerals
Does not like traveling through the swamplands
Lance
Guardian of water
Lives around Mermaid Bay
Aquatic people
Humanoid and can walk on land
Can still breathe underwater and swim as well as the mermaids
Feels close elemental bond with Pidge
Can heal Pidge due to connecting elements
Rivals with Keith
This is most likely due to conflicting elements
Loves to dance and play music
Loves socializing
“Social classes? What are those?”
Collects seashells for Pidge
Pidge
Is the guardian of the forest, plants, and life itself.
All of the guardians can feel when she is in trouble due to being the element of life
Harming/killing Pidge could severely weaken the other guardiansPidge can feel the other guardians
Her bond with Hunk and Lance are stronger due to plants and life being reliant on earth and water
Fairy folk
Can change from typical human size to a small fairy
Still small in human size
Can fit in average-sized hands with ease as a tiny fairy

When scared, hurt, or ill, will take on tiny form
Close with Ryner, chief of the Olkari Tribe
The Olkari people can grow plants with magic
They are not fairies and cannot change sizes
Close with Ulaz, Ryner’s student
Ulaz is Galra and from the desertHe left in the pursuit of learning to heal and grow plants from the Olkari people
