Aqua Appreciation Week Day 5 - Favorite Relationship

So, one again I decided to not go with the obvious, and chose Mickey Mouse. While, sure, they only really meet each other a few times, the times they do interact are interesting to me. At Radiant Garden, you have two people who know nothing about each other, but they both know that protecting Kairi is important. So, when Mickey shows up and tells Aqua to get her someplace safe, Aqua didn’t have to come back to the castle. She could’ve gone further out with Kairi, but she chose to return so Mickey didn’t have to fight alone.

Then, when they meet again at the Keyblade Graveyard, he’s kind of a shining light of hope for her, since she has no idea what happened to Terra or Ven after being knocked out by Vanitas. And Mickey helps her recognize that Ven’s been taken over by Vanitas and helps her find the strength to fight her friend.

And after all that, Mickey’s the one who takes her and Ven’s body to Yen Sid where they’d be safe after that climactic battle. The two of them really look out for each other in the pinches they’re caught in, even though they haven’t known each other very long.

And even over a decade later, Mickey still remembers her words.

Friendship is awesome.
