~ ~ ♆ ~ ~ @aquxtic-beast​ asked: "Sabito," voice calling out softly in attempt to gain the attention of his childhood friend, "what are you doing out here by yourself?" It had been raining rather hard as of late and Giyu was certain he'd told Sabito to stay inside the estate just a few hours ago. Yet, here he was, standing in the middle of a downpour next to the koi pond.

    It’s not as if Sabito is unaware of the fact that it’s been raining, the drops ping musically off the metal roof of the Water Hashira estate and drip from the eaves to make puddles around the stairs. The kind of soothing symphony that many humans complain and grumble about, but that Sabito thrives on. It starts to rain and people start to bitch, simply a fact of life---unless there’s a drought.

    Giyu absolutely told him to not go outside in the downpour and ‘catch his death’ or whatever, but when has that ever stopped the pinkette? Never, that’s when. Being inside while it’s raining is soothing, yes...being outside in the rain is like stepping into what he imagines nirvana to be like; all encompassing bliss.

    The fish don’t mind the rain; they’re swimming about the same as always. Why would they mind a little extra water? It’s their domain, after all. Sabito likes to sit by the pond and watch them whenever he’s stressed, had found his way next to them once more as he stepped out. No umbrella, nothing to shield him from the hard pitter-patter against his hair and skin. Water on his body, blooming flowers and petrichor all around, he feels safe.

    Sabito looks over his shoulder to see his partner on the porch and smiles at him. “Ah! There’s Giyu~ What took you so long?”

aquxtic-beast said: "Oi, Ayaki-san." The male walks up the other, actually sounding rather calm for once. "What was life like for you? Yanno, before you joined the demon corps." He seemed genuinely interested. { From Inosuke of course. } | {} | Unprompted --- Always Accepting | {} |

    Violet eyes go to his companion, considering the question and Inosuke’s calm state. They haven’t been traveling long, but in that time he has become accustomed to the other slayer’s brash and hot-headed personality. So at odds with his own; they might as well be night and day, but they manage to make it work.

    “There’s not much to tell,” he replies. “I was young when I was brought to the Corps, but I lived with my Kaasan and Tousan in a small village. We weren’t rich, but neither were we poor. My Tousan worked and my Kaasan stayed home. She could weave and sew, so she made clothes for extra money.”

    Their shoes make crunching noises on the road, filling the quiet besides the occasional sound of a bird and Rui’s voice. “I was very sick, even walking was extremely hard for me. They never said it, but I couldn’t help but feel like a burden. They were always calling the doctor and they even hired tutors for my education. I think they could have had a more fulfilling life if they didn’t have to worry about me.”

If he remembered correctly, this was the other water hashira with Giyū, he couldn't remember his name though. Something with an S... well he supposed it didn't matter. It's not like it would stick with him anyway. Taking a few steps closer, while also trying not to trip over the few rocks in his path, he calls out to the other. "Hey," he stops, "you're Giyū's boyfriend, right?" Oh no. | ~ | Unprompted | ~ |

    Sabito pauses in his training; tight grip on his nichirin blade relaxing and turning to face who called out to him. Oh hey, it’s Tokito! He can’t really recall a time where the youngest hashira amongst them said anything besides ‘hello’. He wonders what brought the younger man to seek him out...but he doesn’t mind one bit.

    A soft chuckle escapes his lips, slightly muffled by his mask. “Is that how he’s introducing me to people now? Not that I mind, since it’s true! Though I prefer the term soul mates myself...hmm, what can I do for you, Tokito-san?”

Hands fumbling with a small pouch, fingers lightly gliding against the smooth fabric. He had never really done something like this before, at least not as an adult, so he was a bit nervous. Swallowing down his anxiousness, Giyū makes a quick approach towards his friend, grabbing him by the sleeve and pulling him close for a quick kiss. He placed the pouch into his hands before quickly speeding off to hide. { Happy Valentine's Day~! 💕 }

“Eh? Giyu, what’s u---” Sabito never gets to finish his sentence, not when Giyu is suddenly kissing him (just like in all his fantasies and dreams). It’s...everything he could have hoped for; his lips are firm and soft, he can smell Giyu’s scent this close, it feels like fireworks are going off in his body...sheer and utter perfect bliss.

But just as he’s about to grab his friend to return the kiss and make it deeper, something is pushed into his hands and then his friend is running away; leaving Sabito to stare after him with a stupid expression on his face and wait for his brain to reboot.

A good five minutes later its gotten halfway there, enough to remind him that Giyu gave him something and Sabito looks down. His fingers are trembling as he carefully opens the pouch to see what’s inside.

“Giyu….hold on!” Sabito shouts at him, laying flat on his stomach to reach his friend who is currently dangling off the side of a cliff. The demon they’d been sent to deal with was the now former Lower Moon One (the lower moons are always changing, either dying at the hands of slayers or murdering one another). It’s dead now; head separated from shoulders by Sabito’s blade, his rage having fueled that last attack that shredded the demon’s head.

He’d been so scared…so very scared when he saw the other man go over the cliff, certain that Giyu was dead now. But when he went to check he saw that he was ALIVE! Hanging by his fingers onto a small ledge and waiting for Sabito. Alive…alive…thank the GODS! (Gods he doesn’t believe in, but might start after this.)

He’s tossed his own blade aside, deeming it unimportant compared to his fellow hashira. Sabito has his own injuries, none too serious at first glance and that he’s ignoring with all his might. They’re unimportant right now. All that matters is Giyu’s safety; getting him up onto the top of the cliff and then to a Wisteria House to have his wounds looked at.

“Almost…almost…GOT YOU!” His hand encloses around one of Giyu’s and he starts to pull with all his might. “Hold on…I’ve almost…got you up…!”
