I love the idea that Damian talks like normal in Arabic but not English due to the access he had to the two languages. I don't know who originally pitched this idea but it's hilarious. I would like to add in Arabic Damian talks like a Egyptian/Yemini frat boy but would switch to standard when his grandfather was around or it was a formal setting. As he lives in Gotham longer he blends Dialect and standard.

This helps him in his words, "establish connections" with the local school kids of Jersey.

Italianisms in Tunsian (Arabic) dialect

i got inspired by @malteseboy ‘s boy post . Tunisia has a rich history, therefore our dialect has been influenced by mutiple languages, one of them is italian. there are a lot of words that show clearly their italian origins. here is a (non exhaustive) list.

hello→aaslema  عسلامة good morning→sbeh el khir صباح الخير goodbye→besslama   بالسلامة thank you→aaychek / shokran  عيشك / شكرا  thank you a lot →shokran jazilan شكرا جزيلا pleased (to meet  you) →netsharfou نتشرفو    welcome→marhbé مرحبا    (i’m) fine→labes لاباس   how are you? (colloquial)→mriguel? مريقل

[ how are you? can be translted to “labes?” too, just change the intonation to a questioning one ]
