She stood outside of her house, her fingers running along each other in a tame sort of anxiety. She hadn't thought ahead, she never did. In fact, her entire life all she had ever done was go with the flow. She was impulsive. She didn't want to turn around and leave. What if Ara could see her, waiting for someone to simply ask, "Are you alright?" All anyone ever did was assume she would be alright in the end. How disappointed she would be if Koal left but on the other hand, maybe it was arrogant to assume that. Maybe she would be relieved that no one was prying, asking questions.
Koal always made it a point to never pry into someone's life but she still wanted to see if the other was alright. With a light sigh, she knocked on the other's door with a light rapping of her knuckles against the wood. There was no response. She normally could hear the heavy footsteps of Ara's socked feet running toward the door and greeting her with a smile but she didn't.
The door was unlocked so she let herself in. "Miss Ara?" She called out. Empty. She immediately tried the bedroom, a place sure to be the focus of every single bad thing to happen in a person's life. It was a sanctuary.
Funny, the door was locked. "Ara, are you in there?"
"Hey Koal, hey." The girl's immediate response had Koal's eyebrows raised in surprise. She hadn't expected for her inquiry to be reciprocated so quickly. "I'm sorry but I'm in the best of moods right now."
"Are you alright?" She tried, only having the door to stare at. She could hear shuffling on the other side and then, the door pulled open, a gust of air shooting in her face as Ara suddenly appeared and wrapped her arms around the artist. Deep sobs racked her entire being and Koal almost couldn't think of what to do to calm her. She just gently pat her back and placed a soothing hand on her head.
"I'm not alright. I'm not freaking alright."
