Valentine’s Day? 7 Seeds fic time!
Wedding Day
“It’s not too late to turn back~”
“Shut up, Semimaru” Arashi snapped as he nervously adjusted the collar of his handmade black suit.
“Hana would have your head if you did, though” Haru commented, making Ryuusei snort “Unless the bride’s maids got to him first.”
“You guys should stop that” Aramaki chided, giving Arashi a reassuring smile “You’ll do fine, Arashi-kun.”
“Thank you, Aramaki-san” the boy says with a sigh “But honestly, I don’t even know why I’m so nervous.”
“It’s your wedding; being nervous is natural, right?” Ryuusei says “Don’t think too much about it; in a world like this, formalities don’t really matter.”
“Which is why I don’t understand why they want a wedding in the first place” Semimaru scoffs as he finally gets tired of Arashi’s collar adjusting and tosses him a cravat “I mean, I get it that normally girls like that stuff, but c’mon, it’s Hana! She’s not the usual girly type, now is she!?”
“Hana can be girly too” Arashi says as he gives up on the collar and starts putting on the cravat. Kurumi’s handiwork, no doubt “I take it you don’t care much for weddings, Semimaru?”
“Obviously!” the man barked “Useless fancy stuff that people do just to brag…”
“That’s too bad” Haru cut in, getting both Arashi and Semimaru’s attention “You know, I talked about this with Natsu briefly the other day. Apparently, she really likes weddings…”
“Huh? You had a talk like that with her?” when Haru nods, Semimaru sinks deep in to his thoughts. So, Natsu liked weddings? Who would’ve thought… well, she read a lot, that much he knew, so maybe she had read romance novels too? Maybe she was actually a romantic? But he would’ve never begged for Natsu to be someone who liked big events in the first pla-
…
Wait.
Semimaru looks around, seeing everyone looking at him, all of them seeming like they tried to keep themselves from laughing. Haru had a poker face, but Arashi and Aramaki were hopeless, barely staying silent.
…
“You just made that all up!” he finally yells at Haru, who bursts out laughing as soon as he does. The others follow suit.
“You’re too easy to read, you know” the younger man tells him as he struggles for breath, yelping as Semimaru grasps him in a headlock.
“Careful Semimaru; Haru’s not exactly sturdy” Arashi reminded him, adjusting his cravat one last time “I’ll go now; I don’t want to be late.”
Meanwhile:
“Having second thoughts?” Fujiko asks with a grin as she straightens out the hem of Hana’s dress.
“No way” the bride answers with a grin of her own “How long do you think I’ve been waiting for this?”
“Too long, I bet” the woman answered “He should’ve proposed earlier!”
“Umm… he would’ve loved to, but it took him time to make the ring, so…” Natsu muttered from where she was holding Hana’s veil, ready to give it at a moment’s notice. Turning to Natsu in surprise, Hana asked: “You knew?”
“We-well, yes” Natsu confessed, clearly not sure if she should continue “Arashi-kun… umm… he asked me and Haru-kun to make sure you didn’t find out… and to distract you if needed… umm…”
“Haru? He asked Haru?” Hana asks in surprise “I thought he would rely on Semimaru-kun for something like that.”
“Ah… well, um- “
“He probably feared that Semimaru would spill the beans and didn’t want to risk it” Sakuya pointed out “He’s not very smart, you know.”
The women turned to look at Sakuya, and it was Fujiko who voiced what everyone was thinking: “…Sakuya-kun, why are you here and not with the guys? Or you know, anywhere but here? The bride preparing should be women only.”
“Says who?” the man simply asks “I don’t recall there being a rule like that.”
“Ah whatever” Hana says with a shrug, grinning wickedly “I think we can all just count Sakuya as one of the girls, can’t we?”
A chorus of laughter filled agreements made Sakuya protest loudly. Hana laughed along with her friends, gesturing for Natsu to bring the veil. When she did, Chisa started setting it on the bride’s head.
“All done” she eventually said “Shall we head out?”
“Yup” Hana says “Arashi better not be late!”
The others went first, and when it was finally time for Hana to walk down the makeshift aisle that Ran had, after some serious pestering, made, she couldn’t help but ponder on her own feelings. Weren’t brides usually supposed to feel nervous? Because she didn’t, not in the slightest. Everything simply felt right.
“That’s how it’s supposed to be” she mused as she lifted her gaze, her eyes landing on Arashi, who was looking straight back at her. His eyes told her that he thought the same “To think that we’d finally reach this point.”
Hana wasn’t even sure why she had wanted to get married; there was no need for formalities in this world. The topic had simply come up one night, without there being any deeper meaning behind it, and a few weeks later Arashi had proposed to her. And naturally, she’d said yes.
As Hana reached her husband to be, their eyes met, and there was no question that they both were exactly where they wanted to be.
This was where they belonged.
