Tokyo - Araki-cho 荒木町 Araki-cho became a Hanamachi in the late 1860's, peaked in the mid 1920's, started declining in the mid 1960's and lost its official Hanamachi status in 1983, when the three businesses union (三業組合) and Kenban closed.
In a 2020 interview with Okiya Okami Noboru のぼる from Omori, it was mentioned a hand full of Geisha still worked in Araki-cho. In 2022, a Geisha from Akasaka retired to work in Araki-cho, the district having an atmosphere similar to Kagurazaka. Her new geimei is Fumie ふみ枝 and she is the only 21st century Geisha of this district I've ever seen. The top 2 pictures seem to be from the 1950's-60's, a period when interest in (and affordability of) Geisha reached it's after war peak. No infos on the Odori program page. The fourth picture with the Tekomai Geisha seems to have been taken before the war.
