A pair of frames from a foggy Aramoana. Felt good to fire off a lil 35mm for a change!

Moana Street, Aramoana, Otago, New Zealand.
Visited the local sushi bar named sushi ii.That’s quite nice!
Went to a beach where aparentally there was a mass shooting in 1990, a bit spooky but very pretty 💛
Our first micronation (not to be confused with microstates [e.g., Andorra and Antigua and Barbuda], which are [albeit tiny] sovereign states recognized by other sovereign states, micronations claim to be sovereign states but are not recognized by other sovereign states): the Independent State of Aramoana! During the 1970s and 1980s, there was a push to build a smelter in the Otago region of the South Island in New Zealand - an industrial plan that would have destroyed the towns of Aramoana and Te Ngaru. There was Australian money involved, government sanction, the ball was rolling when.....the citizens of Aramoana said, “No go, mate.” The Save Aramoana Campaign formally announced secession from New Zealand on December 23, 1980, thereby asserting that the New Zealand government had no jurisdiction to allow the smelter plans to go forward. In addition to printing postage stamps, the Independent State of Aramoana also issued passports, established border posts, and in general garnered enough media attention that Aramoana became a national issue, the New Zealand government eventually capitulated, the Australian money dwindled, and Aramoana was saved! [Only, alas, to be the site of one of the worst shooting rampages in New Zealand history in 1990.]
