Ooh.... How angsty are we talking? Technically, To Catch A Rabbit will have quite a bit of angst, but it def won't be as gut wrenching as Monsters 🤡

I do have a reincarnated lovers au in mind (different to Hotel Del Sol) that was never meant to see the light of day because I couldn't figure out the ending, but now that you've asked I might have it take a turn for the worse 😈 I was writing it as a long oneshot, so that might pop up in the okkg tag one day (altho I'm not sure when hbbjfkkd)

Hotel Del Sol - Chapter 11 Excerpt

His eyes widened briefly at her kimono, causing Kagura’s hands to self-consciously curl around the ends of her sleeves as she approached.

"This is why you took so long?" he asked when she came to a stop before him.

"Why?" she said. "Does it look bad?"

He swallowed, an almost imperceptible movement that Kagura would've missed had she not been already staring at the line of his neck. His hand twitched as if to reach out and touch her, but at last second, he crossed his arms and nodded at the sheathed katana slung over her back. "That doesn't go with it."

Kagura reached behind her back to touch the sheath. It was the same sword that Sougo gifted her months ago on that fateful night, and he almost certainly recognized it. He was right about it not suiting her kimono, but truthfully, she didn't feel quite safe without it. As if hearing this, Sougo finally caved in and took her hand, his palm safely encompassing her own. "It suits you," was all he said, but it was enough to make her smile.

Hotel Del Sol - Deleted Scene

Chapter 7:

Kagura woke up in a hospital with a splitting headache. She touched her head, feeling bandages wrapped around her head. "Ugh. What the fuck?" There was a clatter like the sound of a chair hitting the floor. "Aneue! She's awake!" Footsteps quickly approached the bed, and a hand grabbed her shoulder. "Kagura-chan! Can you hear me?" Kagura groaned, blinking her eyes open. Otae and Shinpachi's worried faces swim into view. "Where am I?" "The hospital," Otae told her worriedly. "Shin-chan got a call an hour ago saying you’d been hurt. Somebody brought you to the hospital. What happened to you, Kagura-chan?" Kagura scratched her head. "Oh. I was…" The inugami. She sat up immediately. "Ah! I remember now, I just tripped is all, yes!" Shinpachi frowned. "You just tripped?" "Yup!" Kagura scrambled to get out of the hospital cot. "I was hurrying to get to this sale-" "You can’t get out of bed, Kagura-chan! The doctor says you might have a concussion!" "I feel fine, Anego," she assured, grabbing her sneakers. But I need to go! I might still make this sale!" "Wait!" Kagura jammed her feet into her shoes and ran out of the room. "It could be life or death!"

Hotel Del Sol - Chapter 6 Excerpt

"Do you know," he said, leaning casually against a wooden pillar, "How hard it was to find you?"

Kagura shifted the handle of the sword in her hands. The weight of it was both familiar and alien in her palm. Sougo's eyes narrowed. "That, I think, belongs to me."

"Not anymore," Kagura spoke without thinking. "You should be careful about where you leave your stuff. Don't you know there's a bandit around?"

Kagura remembered her first bouquet of sunflowers — what it had felt like to run a finger along the furry softness of the saturated green stems, to hold the weighted package in her arms. There had been no particular smell to the flowers, nor had their yellow been especially beautiful; but the bouquet had been wrapped in thick expensive paper, with a quality printed card slotted in-between the leaves.

‘Happy Birthday, Miss Kagura,’ it read. 'From, the Hotel Del Sol.’

Later, she would look up the meaning of sunflowers. Adoration, said one book. Loyalty, longevity, and happiness.

Ironic, should've been one such word. Kagura was certainly never happy to see them.
