Pelagos Redesign

(Unfortunately, I only have this sketch from The Missing Chess Pieces' cover and not a complete ref yet, but I thought I'd talk about my ideas vs what we actually have in cannon.)

For starters, I changed him from yellow back to blue. The issue with him being made yellow is that it was the only colour on him. Yellow is generally one of the most disliked colours, and it also makes him not look like Pelagos. I did keep some of the

I threw in the trans flag palette because A. It's a nice pallet and I mentioned an issue was he was too monochrome, so I needed other colours as well. Plus the guy made the skybox trans, I think he'd come out in more ways than one.

The blue was also to link Pelagos to being formerly kyrian. While yes, I don't believe in cannon, he should have been Arbiter because he has a bias to kyrian, here I wanted to keep it as being kyrian will always be a part of Pelagos. His history is kyrian, his soulbind is kyrian. Culturally, he is kyrian. This is why I also made his bands to his anima ribbons look like feathers. I wanted him to Ascent in his own way, he still retains the features of an aspirant (more humanoid) however, gains the markings associated with ascended. I think Pelagos can choose how he appears as Arbiter, so I wanted him to look like Ascended Pelagos.

The Crown of Wills -> That infinity symbol. Okay, we all hate the Crown of Wills, it's ugly, it's an insult to the Helm of Domination. It was just painful all around. To sort of salvage it, I have that its essence got merged with Pelagos at the end, and this is shown by the mixed infinity looping around him.

Liila: You should pet him because I told him you’d love him and you’re making him anxious.

Wobbles: *looks utterly unconcerned*

Pelagos: *looks from Liila to Wobbles to Liila*

Pelagos: I cannot accept Wobbles.

Liila: But he’s yours. His whole purpose is to be your buddy. You would deny Wobbles his Purpose?

Pelagos: 

Liila: I mean, I guess I can try to take him apart and make something else if his existence really bothers you.

Pelagos: 

Pelagos: You can...take him apart?

Liila: *shrug* I mean. I’ve seen people disenchant stuff before, so it can’t be that har--

Pelagos: *snatches Wobbles* You have recklessly made a life; you cannot just--

Wobbles: *happily patters feet on Pelagos’ palm*

Liila: :> He likes you.

Wobbles: :>

Pelagos: 

Pelagos: I will see to it that you have a good home before we leave, Wobbles.
