Figured I'd create a few of my own high-res scans of the Scott Pilgrim videogame soundtrack. Enjoy!

JANUARY, 2017 GAMER BLOCK FROM NERD BLOCK
Here’s the first episode of BOX PARTY filmed for my new channel! You know, I always go into these videos thinking “maybe it’ll be different this time” or “I’m going to be the next Andre ‘the Black Nerd’ with my sunny attitude and cheery smile!”
And then I hit the record button.
And then you end up getting episodes like this.
Gamer Block M Jan. 2017
Starting with this month, Arcade block has been split into Gamer Block E and Gamer Block M, with the blocks focusing on kid friendly and mature games respectively. Not really wanting to spend money on both, I chose to go with the M block (I didn’t think I switched my block order in time, but thankfully I did cause in my opinion the E block sucked).
Our first shirt of the year is from Tomb Raider. Not sure if this is from any specific game or not, but it looks cool. You can see Lara Croft hanging out in a cave shaped like a t-rex skull, she’s off to the left crouching down. I’m not the biggest Tomb Raider fan, but my friend Nova is and I’m sure she’ll love this.
Next is a Fallout Vault Boy bobble head. As you can see from the back of the box there were multiple styles available, seven if the magazine listed them all. I’m really happy with the one I got, though the Vault Boy holding the BFG would have been a bit cooler. I think it’s kinda creepy with the way he points a gun at you while wearing that blank smile.
A new thing that I think they’ll be doing every month is providing codes for steam games. This game is called event [0] and even though I’m not a big fan of playing games on my computer I’ll probably check this out, especially if I’m going to be getting a game every month.
Next is an art print from The Revenge Of Shinobi, which I’ve never played. I know of the shinobi franchise, but it never really caught my attention. But this is definitely cool looking and I’ll probably try to find a frame for it.
There’s also a little key chain flash light from Sniper Elite 4, which I’ve never heard of. But it’s a cool little thing. The light shines an image of a crosshair, like from a sniper scope, which is certainly fitting.
And lastly we have a pin. I honestly thought this was a pin of the Gamer Block itself, but it’s actually the cardboard box from Metal Gear. I don’t know if pins are going to be a regular thing or not, but I kinda hope not cause I never really know what to do with them. Now, both blocks got pins and I think the E block pin is the only thing from that block that was really cool. It was a three heart meter from Zelda and I would have loved to have it.
All in all, I thought this was a really good block. I think by being able to choose between E and M games that you’re more likely to get franchises that you really like. I’ll probably be switching back and forth depending on what’s being offered each month. I’ve already switched to the E block for February because it’s going to have a Zelda item, which I simply can’t resist. Another thing of note is that instead of the postcard telling you what’s in the block you get a small magazine that also has articles pertaining to Nerd Block’s other blocks, Gamer M, Gamer E, Horror, and Comic. Sci-Fi was the only one left out. I don’t know if all the blocks come with the same magazine or not, but I really like it. Instead of teasing specific franchises for next month you only get a single page saying that the theme is Fight! But if you go on their website you can see that it includes Street Fighter among other things.

Arcade Block December 2016 Unboxing
Just because Christmas has passed doesn’t mean the gifting has ended in this household. At least, that’s what it felt like when received our Arcade Block. Our kids seem to agree… they gathered close and held onto the collectibles they most liked instead of passing it around like we usually do. They especially liked the Game Boy Flashlight Key Chain. Me too! When you live in Florida, little things…

Arcade Block December 2016 Is this the first block if the year, or the last? I'm not sure. Either way, it's a pretty good one. The shirt is pretty cool. It's not a complicated design at all, but it's still nice. All the Overwatch characters (minus Sombra) are arranged by play style. I don't play Overwatch since I suck at shooters and don't have a console to play it on,but I love the idea of it and think the characters and story are all really cool. If I knew someone who played I'd probably gift this to them, but I don't so I think I'll keep it. The Megaman Robot Master Field Guide is pretty cool too. It gives information on every character from the classic Megaman games, kinda like the old Pokémon handbooks. Megaman.exe has always been my favorite Megaman, but I've thought about getting some of the classics on Nintendo's virtual console and I'll definitely give this a read. The Assassins Creed plush thing is the worst item in the box. Mainly because it's ugly, but also because it's a weird coarse texture that doesn't feel good at all. We got something similar to this with the Warcraft movie a few months ago, I didn't like that either. I'd much prefer a funko to this, those are much cuter. Next is a Gameboy Keychain flashlight. It's a neat little thing. You press the screen to make the LED light up. It's decently bright. If your power goes out you can use it to find your way around well enough. And lastly is a Legend of Zelda candle holder. I really like this. It has really nice art on it that looks like stained glass. If I remember correctly, these are actually seen in Hyrule Castle in Windwaker, but it's been a long time since I played that game. Overall, I really did like this block. It's by no means the beast, but it's better than the last few months were (October and November both sucked). Arcade block is doing something different in 2017. They're splitting it into two different blocks; Gamer Block E and Gamer Block M. The different blocks focus on games with different ratings. T games will probably fall into the M block. Sadly, none of the brands teased for next month are very promising. The M block will have Fallout, which is the only game from either block I have any interest in, and I don't think it's enough to make me want it. Both blocks will come with codes for a free Steam game, but I've never used Steam and am not really into playing games on my computer. So I'm not sure if I'll be getting a block next month or not.
