Vander watercolor memories part 1.

Claggor's mom and Mylo's dad, with Connol they were the ABC gang. Zaunite orphans who banded together to survive in the Undercity. While Connol dubbed himself as leader, Archie was determined to be at least second in command. A stoner with a love of partying, drinking, whoring and heavy metal music. He wasn't always the brightest but he somehow knew the best spots to find scrap to sell or haggle over. He'd act like a tough guy until he gets punched in the face... then ends up being Connel’s hype man to finish what he started. He loved his freedom and didn't take things too seriously so long as he ended up semi on top.... Until the brothel owner Babette the Yordle dropped by with a baby. It turned out all these years screwing any brother girl within a two foot radius finally caught up with him. The boy's mother was an addict and wanted nothing to do with him. Archie felt like life just socked him in the jaw to clean up his act. Against his usual habits he took in his son, Mylo. His days partying hard until he blacked out in someone else's bed were going to have to be put behind him... Seeing as he had to be a father now.... But growing up without one would make him nervous and question everything. He loved his little son, he was scrawny just like him, but he found himself loving him to bits.

Bernice by comparison was a shy and gentle girl. Always trying to be the peace maker in her gang. She worked as a technician, but had bigger dreams of building flying machines like the ones in Piltover. Due to her poor background she couldn't attend the academy, but that didn't stop her from building her own for Zaun little by little. She met a man named Oliver who worked with Ekko's mom Inna in the green houses. He found her work fascinating and was eager to help complete her work so one day they could fly it together. They got married and were devoted together. Bernice had to take it slow during her pregnancy. But Oliver was wanting to surprise her by completing the aircraft. However he wasn't as well practiced as a technician in high spaces..... and fell from the scaffolding to his death. Bernice was devastated. She couldn't bring herself to finish the aircraft now knowing it claimed her husband. Her cream of flying was dashed. She turned to her husband's job in the greenhouses to keep a part of him close. Inna could feel her pain and tried to comfort her while she raised Claggor.

Archie was heartbroken to see his best friend in such a state. He knew he could never fill Oliver's shoes, and hell he was bumbling around as a new dad. He was embarrassed to admit he needed help giving Mylo a wet nurse. Bernice understood and accepted to raise Mylo along side her son Claggor. They weren't brothers by blood, but that never stopped the ABC gang in regards to who they labeled as family. She gave Claggor her goggles hoping maybe he'd take an interest in finishing the airship someday.

With Connol meeting Felicia, Bernice and Archie were introduced to Vander, Silco, Zhivago and Benzo. They all agreed at the injustice of Zaun being kept under Piltover's shadow. And like so many that day, Bernice and Archie died to the Piltover canons and gunfire. Vander was already having to deal with Powder and Vi how had to bear the terrible news to the two boys wondering where their parents were. He took them both in too, seeing as no one else could.

Thinking about how Vi was canonically a momma's girl...does that mean Jinx was once a daddy's girl? And NO I'm not talking about her relationship with Silco or Vander, I'm talking about Jinx and Connel. Did they have a special bond? Was Jinx attached to him?

Now I can't help but feel like Connel got screwed big time. We don't know anything about him except that Felicia chose him over Vander or Silco for whatever reason. If I had to suspect Vi gets a lot of features from him, like his eyes and eyebrows. Gave him back his bandanna from his death scene, he looks better with it on. Plus, I feel Vi and Jinx get their anger and risky behavior from him-- maybe even his brash humor. Plus I like to think he acts like Arthur Vines-- eerily looks like him too.

Now-- What's Connel's deal?

I think he came late into Vander's circle of friends but was more involved with Mylo's dad and maybe even one of Clagger's parents. He's a brawler and loves to party hard and drink. Scruffy, stubborn, and a bit rough around the edges. Felicia was drawn to his attitude for step back and laugh at things even when their city is not ideal to be living or working in. Connel is not the brightest, and often lets his temper go to his head. But he works hard enough and does care at the end of the day when it came to his wife and his daughters.
