Vi rolled on her side to face Jinx and rubbed her forehead. She looked tired. "But I'd rather see how far this Viktor can go before we blow it up here." "Hey, I'll have you know I'm on my best behavior, here. The people love me! At least the neighbor does." She just loved being able to rub it in that she'd gotten a gift from a communer. Even if it really was a bag of dung. Meanwhile, Vi kept scaring off every poor sucker who crossed her path with her patented angry guard dog routine. Ha. But no dice. They were here to stay a while. The so-called miracle healer had warned them it would take time, but they weren't prepared for the waiting. Jinx's impatience kept growing, but every time she thought about demanding an explanation… he'd start calling them by name. He even knew Isha's. That was enough to keep their hope alive.

What does life look like when love is present but belonging is lost? After their miraculous reconciliation, the sisters bring their old man to a rumored healer. As the days stretch, uneasy hope mixes with muted concern—and the terrifying possibility that their restored bond might not be enough. Vi and Jinx, and their lives at Viktor's commune.

Note: This is canon divergent, but only in the sense that I'm stretching the canon timeline a bit.

In the show, the sisters probably don't spend more than a couple of days - maybe at most a week - at Viktor's commune. Vi looks like she's still fresh from her last pitfight, with cuts and injuries, when she reunites with Caitlyn. She and Jinx don't have a lot of time to reflect on their reunion and sit with the implications.

This fic asks what might happen if they did-not too much, just enough for routines to build. So here, let's assume Singed takes his sweet time tracking down Warwick, that the commune doesn't appear obviously dead, and that an undetermined amount of time passes before canon resumes.
