John's throwing a fit about something, probably Jade and Dave getting back together, and meanwhile I'm worried about you, with a side order of worrying that you're upset about my actions, choices, or relationships.
If I'm honest... I'll cut to the chase.
I feel like there's this looming fatalistic shadow, a pending crash from the high of being with who I want, and I'm scared to ask you if it is okay for me to date Dave.
I don't want that. I love you, and I also love him, and I know you hate each other and frankly can't resolve that; not even a little bit. And even feeling this way is unfair to you because it's bringing back into your life a stress you would just as soon never see again.
I feel just a touch like I suck, that's all.
