Tricky: Our muses doing something sneaky
In and out. Something the two Gothamites were especially good at.
Stick to the shadows.
Scare any wandering eyes.
Just no confrontation.
Robin made a two fingered motion from himself to a stairwell about a hundred feet across the building, then directing her attention the motion lights above the stairs.
Nodding in agreement, Artemis knocked an arrow in her bow, eyes locking on her target.

Roy didn't much like returning to Star City. Besides the whole potential of running into Green Arrow -- who he really didn't want to deal with at the moment -- there was the sticking feeling that, while it had been his city, it shouldn't have been. The memories he had of the place, real or not, should have belonged to the real Roy Harper rather than his knock-off replacement. The sights gave him a bit of a bitter taste in his mouth.
However, none of that was about to stop him from tracking a lead.
And, lucky him, he'd caught a tidbit of information that had brought his attention to his former 'home base' city. About a small, under-the-radar strictly research branch of Cadmus that may or may not have operated underground in the warehouse district. He doubted that there'd be anyone left hanging around, but it was definitely worth checking out. So, in the late hours of the night, he found it.
Just as the archer had suspected, the miniature complex in question was deserted. You could see faint traces of what looked like a quick evacuation, but the men behind it had been thorough. Despite an hour-long extensive search, there was nothing to work with.
Roy swore under his breath, wheeled around, and walked back out the door. He was almost too irritated to notice the arrow that whizzed by no more than thirty feet away. But he did, and wasted no time diving backwards into the pitch shadows of the buildings and large wooden crates. Damnit. If Green Arrow was there, with Roy's luck he'd be spotted, despite how thick-skulled the guy could sometimes be. If it was Artemis -- posing as his sidekick even when the three of them all knew that she lived in Gotham -- then there was a slim chance she was here without her 'mentor'. Either way, he didn't particularly want to wait around long enough to find out. Keeping close between the crates and the wall, the redhead started putting distance between the him and the source of the arrow as he silently started to make his escape.
archergirlingreen replied to your post: I guess I should wish you a happy birthday, or something. And me caring about this event is all you’re getting. So happy birthday, dork.
You are very welcome. I still don’t get why exactly we’re celebrating the date of your birth since a small part of everyone died that day…
Wow... You sure are optimistic.
I guess I should wish you a happy birthday, or something. And me caring about this event is all you're getting. So happy birthday, dork.
Your compassion and thoughtfulness never ceases to amaze me. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, your highness.
Artemis could hear her heart pound in her ears as she ran down the street, carefully slipping past people and obstacles. Rain was falling down in large drops, making the streets slippery. The archer’s blond hair was free against her back, soaking up the water like a sponge. Her mind was racing, thoughts, angry thoughts, flying through her mind one after another. How could she? was the question that seemed to drop in the most. Because she really just couldn’t comprehend just how her sister had been capable of… Feeling tears prick the edges of her eyes, she blinked, her jaw tightening. It didn’t matter because she was going to make her pay. First Jade and then her dad. As she saw the house she was heading for appear, she didn’t slow down. She picked up speed, the soles of her shoes slapping against the wet concrete. From the house, Artemis moved into the yard, kicking out the window that lead to the basement. The glass shattered and she wiggled inside, the sharp edges scraping against her skin. She didn’t really care. Once inside, she looked around. She was pretty damn sure that her sister was supposed to be hiding here while the owners were out of town. “Jade!”
Back to Distrust
Roy had been waiting for half the morning.
Back when he'd first figured out that Artemis wasn't Green Arrow's niece -- not like that had been hard, he'd lived with the guy for long enough -- he'd taken the liberty to keep an eye on her. He hadn't gone so far as to keep tabs, but he knew she lived in Gotham and it wasn't hard to figure out which Zeta-beam entry point she used to access Mount Justice. Only in the past two days had he actually taken the time to watch her much closer.
He hadn't trusted her when he'd first met her, resentments aside. Cadmus had programmed him to assume that she was potentially the mole. And he'd gotten over that a few months ago. But now it seemed he was back to square one; albeit for different reasons. She knew something about Speedy, and on top of that she still seemed to be acting suspicious around the team. Roy wasn't going to let her get away with it.
That was the opinion that brought him back to the Zeta-beam entry by the phone booth in the Gotham back alley. He'd arrived around six in the morning, and had been perched behind a dumpster since, waiting. It was a Saturday -- he doubted she could have already passed through. If she was planning on going to the cave, chances were she'd show up. And he'd he ready.
archergirlingreen replied to your post: You make such a cute girl! ~^-^~ Do you like having long hair?
My hair is… was, not crazy. It was simply luscious, thank you very much!
It was... somethin' alright...
Like, half of the time you looked like a Bratz doll and the other half you looked like Sonic the Hedgehog.
