Final Results
Here's our data table showing the height of each kale plant we grew!

This marks the end of our hydroponics journey! We were happily surprised to have successfully grown some kale after weeks of rebuilding our system! Check our blog for our final results! #archerproud #archerstem #kale
It works!!
Great news kalers!! Our system is still working after this weekend!! Even though two of our plants died and the flow rate of water decreased in one of the systems, we still have high hopes.
To fix the issue of not as much water going through the system, we shortened the height of the tube by about an inch and turned the air pump up. This helped tremendously and now both of our systems have a steady flow rate. The system with nutrients (on the left side) has an average flow rate of 1.130 drops per second and the system without nutrients (on the right side) has an average flow rate of 1.083 drops per second.
We also measured the height of each plant, and the heights on Day 1 are shown below (plants starting with 1 are in the system with nutrients, plants starting with 2 are in the system without:
1A: 5.8 cm
1B: 1.5 cm
1C: 2.8 cm
2A: 6 cm
2B: 5 cm
2C: 2.5 cm
Here's a picture of our systems today! Check back soon for another update on how much our kale has grown!

Not all of our plants died!! After only a few little fixes today, we have a working system! 4 out of the 6 plants managed to survive over the weekend and we already have started growing replacement plants! Now we're off to start observations and collecting data #growkale #gokale #kale #hydroponics #archerstem #archerproud
Rebuilding is going great! Thanks to help of our teachers, we figured out what was going wrong and preventing a flow of water. We'll be posting a new blog within the hour with a full update on our new systems. Everyone go check our our Tumblr! We updated you all on how the last few weeks have gone and what problems we have faced. #growkale #kale #hydroponics #archerstem #archerproud
