Magnus was sometimes prone to being dramatic, and that day was no different than the rest of them. He sent a text to Alec that he should come to his apartment as soon as possible, with the explanation that it was something he had no time explaining. Of course, all of it was a lie, but in many ways, that was the only instance he could get his boyfriend out of the Institute and come to him and drag him away from the always busy life of a shadowhunter that way. And while he firmly believed that it shouldn’t take Alec too long to get to his apartment, it was still enough for Magnus to add the final touches to the set table in the middle of the room, candles and a rose to top it off, as well as a nice dinner waiting in the kitchen - all prepared for Valentine’s day.
Upon hearing urgent knocks on the front door, he smiled and went to open it, looking casual as his eyes set on Alec. “Alexander! So nice you could come in such short notice.”
