My favourite cannon about Mulder is that he cheated his way into the FBI.

He admits to Scully in one episode that he's colorblind. FBI agents aren't allowed to be colorblind. They have to pass a color test to be admitted, the Farnsworth D-15 color test.

But studies have shown that colorblind individuals can *study* for Farnsworth D-15 test and still pass it.

So essentially, Mulder read the rules, practised for his test, and lied about being colorblind when he was applying to the bureau.

HE WAS BREAKING THE RULES BEFORE HE WAS EVEN HIRED.
