'The book "Carved architraves. Central Russia". A book about architraves, which includes more than two thousand photographs and stories recorded during expeditions of several years.

"Since three-quarters of the book's contents are photographs, its size is as large as it could be: 275x350mm. It's more than an encyclopedia. This is delightfully much and even the small details of the carving of the architraves will be visible. In fact, it's so much that I'm worried that you'll say that the book is too big and doesn't fit on the shelf. But… There are also small photos on the Internet, and in the book, on every spread, there is a delight in beauty and scale.

The book is divided into two parts.

The first one is small. The history of the appearance and development of architraves and house carvings from the XI century to the present day. What happened before their appearance, how they spread and changed, how they were influenced by stone architecture, the Decembrist uprising, the industrial revolution, the Great Patriotic War and much more.

The second one occupies the main volume of the book and, in turn, also consists of two parts: a catalog of types of architraves and conversations with the inhabitants of houses that have taken place over the past twelve years. All sixteen regions of the Central Federal District are represented by more than one and a half hundred types of architraves, stories, each of which is no less important than carved windows - the same number. Therefore, on each spread, there are a couple of types of architraves on the left, and a story on the right.'
