"It" wasn’t born as a skeleton. It started out as nothing, just scraps of erased timelines pulled together in the void until something inside them woke up. At first it had no body, no voice, no purpose—just the urge not to vanish like the fragments that made it, a sentient being.
drifted like that until it found its first AU, one that had already died out. Inside, it was a sans with no life, just an empty shell. The being slipped into and wore it as its own. It didn’t fit right, stiff and stitched together, but the shell gave it a form. That dead world became the first thing it ever archived.
From then on, he watched other AUs from the outside. He studied how code worked, how shapes were built, how voices made someone real. Over time his body grew more natural—not to blend in, but because he was learning. The more he knew, the more he could keep. His hunger shifted: he didn’t just want to survive anymore. He wanted to collect. Memories, voices, scraps of places everyone else had abandoned—he refused to let them be lost. Now he wandered, finding forgotten souls, forgotten codes. Forgotten, things.. as a keeper of fragments. He stores them in his bundles, in his realm, in himself
"oh howdy. You seem lost in the void...wait that me who is lost and talking to a mirror in the void... Anyway let keep walking"
Such a lonely skele-...wait he isn't a skeleton...

Background:
At the start it wasn't anything, it was just nothing. No person. No skeleton. No... nothing...no time no space just pure nothingness. But after many dieing Aus and broken souls falling into the void. These fallen souls stacked up together creating a hollow soul. The soul didn't have anything. No Hp, no Exp, no LOVE, no Love, no hate, no matter, no emotions, no wellbeing to look for emotions, no understanding. But one Day, Archive!Sans appeared, didn't notice the soul and walked by. The soul saw his form. His skeleton body, and tried to make one, tried to make a vessel, collecting broken parts of, Aus, timelines, Outsider!Codes... until it made a body of a skeleton. It controlled it. It was leaking of the body. So it made clothes, just a cloth. And because it didn't know how to exist the void it started wondering walking around all of the void. By now it has walked around 25% of the void. It has seen many Aus fall down and getting consumed by the void, it has seen many timelines collapse, many souls, many cries...but it didn't do anything about it, it can't do anything about it. Just a lost soul wondering the Void. And as such it named itself LOST and continued on.
Appearance:
A white cloth made of white matters that is left off by Aus. Shorter than regular sans,
Existing in space between life and death— he hoards what’s abandoned: AUs, mechanics, voices, weapons, memories. Not death, not life. he’s the limbo itself.
Cold, formal, and detached, Archive carries himself like a scholar watching a world he no longer belongs to. He has emotions, but they surface rarely and never in the way others expect. When forced into conflict, he prefers distance and control, fighting by drawing upon the fragments of forgotten realities that orbit him like colorful shards of glass.
FRAGMENTS and his advantages:
When Archive collects something forgotten, it condenses into a Fragment. Floating shards of light, each a different rainbow hue. They reflect the "essence" of what was archived. Some he kept in his bundles and some are in his realm/domain aka The Null.
He took advantage of the fragments like a trinket, weapons, something useful and a part of him. For example, he has a few fragments as his "signature" attacks/acts.
1. Pastel shards: might let him mimic humor or charm, stolen from a forgotten AU that leaned into comedy. making him seem charismatic, almost like he's "alive" again. This could be equivalent to his change of colours, like his mist changing into those color emotion based-shards. E.g:
2. a trident-shard glowing red, tied to an abandoned "King’s Trial" AU, lets Archive summon a flaming trident briefly. also having a few fragments of undyne variants, where he can summon spears each with unique abilities.
3. He has unique UI from his collection of forgotten aus, signature UI AKA; Defend, Recall, index, and repeat (his signature buttons). And for frisks and humans that have powers such as UI options, he can switch the places when they are about to pick.
4. His vessel has this power of mist, this sans (vessel) he found abandoned, has a blank space to fill 3 gems on his forehead, it wasn't there yet, and he plans to find a few that fit. If its filled, the vessel could have its own power. Aka misty, the result is that his vessel could turn into a misty creature, turning into mist if attacked, though—very limited if his gems aren't in complete 3. His vessel's mist could form into 'solid', e.g, a mist forming around someone, suddenly turning into a chain or other objects, solid. it can wrap, attack and even protect him from attacks. better if his environment mostly is misty. Again, very limited if his gems aren't complete.
FUN FACTS:
- he HATES mirrors. He views them like a cheap copy of reality. Avoid them entirely.
- Archive’s body isn’t truly his—it's a mask built from a dead AU 'Sans'. The static eye is where the "mask" doesn’t fit. It’s a scar of incompatibility: his true void-self leaks through, unable to fully align with the vessel. He keeps it closed because prolonged use weakens the vessel, risking collapse back into incomprehensible void-form.
when the eye is open, others don’t just see it—they hear it. A low droning static hum in their heads, like dozens of lost voices whispering at once. It’s disorienting, maddening, and reminds everyone around that Archive is not truly a Sans at all.
3. Collects what seems to be trash.
4. Emotionally muted, but he can still feel.
5. Looks homeless. He also went to other AUs trying to watch AUs without anyone noticing him. Sometimes he took a few things from each au he visits, like clothes, accessories etc. and sometimes he used it, since he doesn't know anything about how to dress well and general look—the accessories crashes making him look ugly, but he doesn't even acknowledge that.
6. Obsessive with collecting forgotten things, even the remembered.
7. He can't swim, he'll just lay underwater lazily without caring about the fact that he is drowning
8. HES ANCIENT OLD, he’s primordial in the sense that he came into existence not from a creator’s brushstroke, but from the first cracks of forgetting itself. Archive was already there—lurking in the shadows of the things abandoned before they even had a chance to fully live.
Vintage by @crushshinostudio 😭 as well as the cute picture taken by vintage herself. (Just so you know he got here against his will and he didn't know anything so the opponents will face no others but "vintage" herself and not archive—)
