C H A R A C T E R - I N T R O
now that we’ve revealed our enhancements (under #member groups) and species (under #species and #creatures), we’re dying to meet your characters (and, of course, introduce you to ours)!
so, here’s your chance to show off your kid!
introduce us to your character in whatever manner you like - a moodboard, a graphic, a trait list, however you like! it doesn’t need to be anything too crazy or in depth, just give us all a little taste of who you’re bringing to the table.

APPEARANCE. referred to as dire wolves when spotted by humans, lykos are larger than their extinct cousins, the grey wolves. the coloring of their coats and eyes is determined at birth, echoing their human form. when walking on two legs there are a few differences setting them apart from your "normal" human: sharper incisors, thicker nails, and reflective eyes that respond to light, making them an easy-to-spot target of their human enemies.
Their shift tends to be exceedingly painful in the beginning and happens over 2-5 minutes. The full moon will force them to shift every month, but GAIA has created an enhancement that will allow them to control even this shifting if desired. It is common for younger werewolves to struggle with controlling their shift
SUBSPECIES. none
ABILITIES. Stronger than any human, regardless of form; Longer lifespans, 150 years to 200 years. They do age, but more slowly; Enhanced senses that tends to be stronger when shifted; Advanced regeneration, can heal even from severe injuries
WEAKNESSES. Wolfsbane poisoning is arguably the easiest way of killing them. Brief exposure will just weaken them and leave them unable to move, but prolonged exposure can lead to unconsciousness then death. They also suffer from an allergy to silver that burns their skin when touched and will prevent them from shifting. Beheading or removal of their heart will result in immediate death.
APPEARANCE. At first glance, ouroboros tend to appear as normal humans to people who don’t look too closely. Upon closer inspection, they don’t blink as often as one would expect and their gaze can be unnervingly intense. They have slit pupils, and their eye color often matches the eye color of their snake familiar.
SUBSPECIES. none.
ABILITIES. a snake familiar is the source of their power; venom from the snake causes time-distorting, slow-down effects in their prey; when the snake begins to shed, the ouroboros' life cycle is close to an end; they live for only 70 years per life cycle unless untimely "death" occurs; can regenerate in any body, at any period of life - meaning if someone dies on an operating table temporarily, the soul that reinhabits the body could be the ouroboros regen.
WEAKNESSES. any human death will bring around a new life cycle; if the snake familiar is killed, the ouroboros' ability to regenerate permanently ends. if they are killed prematurely, then their rebirth cycle begins at that moment.
OVERVIEW. vrykolakas are a vampiric species, though they're not to be confused with the vampires conjured up in human stories. vrykolakas are born, not made, and can only be born from two vrykolakas or a vrykolakas and human.
APPEARANCE. humanoid except for elongated upper canine teeth. these teeth are non-retractable, but are not so large that they stand out. the difference in length and sharpness is subtle, but distinguishable from other species.
ABILITIES. SHADOW WALKING: able to combine their essence and form with shadows ENHANCED VISION AT NIGHT
WEAKNESSES. a craving for blood that can make them feral and, in many cases, single-mindedly addicted without proper control over this hunger. luckily, GAIA has developed an intravenous implant to help keep these urges at bay, although many vrykos still indulge in a drink or two for the buzz or high it provides.
MISCELLANIOUS. vrykolakas are born, not made. their bite can not turn other creatures.
APPEARANCE. well ...very human-like, of course. though many - if not most - humans at this point have taken up being equipped with GAIA tech enhancements.
SUBSPECIES. none.
ABILITIES. while many may see them as plain, humans have always been gifted with critical thinking and a mind for invention; they have enduring and noble natures, are companionship-oriented, and are therefore more protective towards their kin and others than many other creatures who only look out for themselves.
WEAKNESSES. humans are, of course, susceptible to disease and relatively short lifespans in the grand scheme of things, not to mention how easily they may succumb to their wounds and sickness. they are also easily swayed by greed and fear, even though they may not realize it until it is too late.

APPEARANCE. very much human, with the exception of the presence of downy feathers rimmed along the hairline at the back of their skulls, and the quite obvious pair of magnificent wings; can hide their wings at will with the use of glamour; feathers tend to be a shade or two lighter than their natural hair colour; can be any gender; remain at peak physical appearance and build (visually ages 30-50), for the majority of their lives.
SUBSPECIES. NIKE: a "valiant" valkyrie, always fighting for the righteous cause without the need for direction.
NEMESIS: a "fallen" valkyrie in that their moral compass has become askew; harder for them to differentiating between what is right and wrong; irritable.
ABILITIES. flight; long lifespan (around 600-700 years); fantastic vision, especially in any situation lacking light; aptitude for weapons; incredible physical strength.
WEAKNESSES. sensitive to light; clipped or plucked remige feathers will result in the inability to fly ever again; easily swayed by a challenge.
