Only two weeks to go until #ArchTalk2022 ! . Did you know that if you attend you won't just be able to watch educational and inspiring talks, but can also participate in fun activities and online contests? You can win digital appreciation certificates but also academic support services including expert discussions with @schgpk mentors, CV reviews, uni admission counseling, discounted merchandise products, and much more! . Entry is free for everyone! All you have to do is post something from one of the following topics: . 1. Do you have any funny or memorable snapshots from your time in the field? Share your story and picture/video! . 2. Recreate an archaeological site or artefact at home - or wear your best excavation suit! 3. Working at an archaeological site, or in another area of cultural heritage? Or have you simply taken a snapshot as a tourist? Share a photo/video/drawing! . As well as posting your content (using the hashtags #SchgArchTalk #schg #ArchTalk2022 #openingarchaeology), make sure to: 1. follow @schgpk and their digital media partners (@tarapanesar and @plumasdesimurgh and of course me 😉) . 2. Tag 3 friends in the comments of the original @schgpk post (shared in my stories) and share that post to your stories . Don't forget to submit your abstract by tomorrow's deadline (sept 15) for the upcoming #Archtalk2022 event run by Save Cultural Heritage Group! . There are three thematic sessions that you can submit to, all of them designed to bring together people from different fields of archaeology and cultural heritage and share insights into their research and working experience: . 1. Post-pandemic archaeology: How has the world of archaeological research changed after the global pandemic of the last few years? . 2. Cultural Heritage and globalisation: how has globalization affected the conservation, restoration, and touristic development of tangible and intangible heritage, such as architecture, art, music etc? . 3. Digital media for culture - communication and education: This will be the session I'm presenting in, which focuses on the use of digital methods, technology, and platforms in relation to cultural heritage. . If one of these sessions looks like something that relates to your work and experience, there is still time to submit an abstract! Announcement! I've teamed with @schgpk to become a Digital Media Partner for #SCHGARCHTALK #ArchTalk2022. The ArchTalk Season 01 consists of three thematic sessions: 1. Post-Pandemic Archeology? 2. Cultural Heritage and Globalization 3. Digital Media for Culture: Communication and Education The ten minutes talks will be followed by discussions/Q&A, involving the presenters and their chosen topics.
