Hey Seph, have you played the latest episode of Tales from the Borderlands yet? If so, what did you think?

I DID, I made tons of awful decisions, wailed about [spoilers] for like 2 days, cheered for and linked vids of [spoilers but basically the best “””action””” scene ever] to try and hook in friends for like a week (i.e. I am still doing this), and still shout to the heavens “BUT WHAT ABOUT VAUGHN?!” every day.

So, now I have to wait for the final episode and totally not be ready to emotionally handle what I did to these poor characters. Man. Video games. Geez.

How intelligent are Hearths? What behavioral patterns can be observed in them?

Pretty intelligent! I’d say as intelligent as a human, just with different motivations (they can’t really get a formal education, but hearths can learn some neat skills from their residents.) 

They’re good with delayed gratification!! They know how to plan ahead, and they can understand abstract concepts. They’re wary around new people, and can get a lil territorial. Staying at home can get a little boring, so hearths like to explore and chat with other hearths for fun. Hearths can’t really talk with people, so they tend to think they’re less smart than they actually are.

The Strawhat Crew were notorious on the playground in grade school for causing trouble--but also for setting it right, albeit in blunt and direct ways. Separated by age in junior high, they’re finally all in high school now--and far different than they were when they were little. Luffy has changed the least; he still wants to “be the king,” as he puts it. Zoro’s code of honor has not changed, but he’s gotten better at everything except dealing with his own feelings. Nami has come out as a lesbian, and proudly wears it in spite of exclusion and bullying. Usopp, the one who always hung back, has started to come into his own as someone who is brave enough to stick up for himself and others. Sanji is still chasing skirts, but less bitter and a lot more bold. Chopper is the youngest, still trying to navigate freshman year while also trying to figure out what has changed in his friends. Robin and Franky have finally gotten over themselves and become a couple, but every relationship has its rocks. And Brook--well. Brook is Brook. Just better at violin now.

Together, they have to work out what separated them in the past and what’s keeping them together now to make their bond stronger than ever.
