Innocence
Innocence - in·no·cence
noun \ˈi-nə-sən(t)s\ lack of experience with the world and with the bad things that happen in life
Every parent shells their kids from the harsh reality, be it by shielding them with pure innocence or making them face the harshness earlier so that they’ll be numb with it. Jongup grew up believing happy endings exist, that no matter what happened, everyone will fall to their happy endings.
As innocent as a baby, Jongup did whatever he can to have his own happy ending, despite not knowing what kind of ending that is. But having no parents to shell him from sadness and grief, he did it himself, cocooning him with his own dreams.
“Wow jongup, you’re so nice!” A girl muttered as she takes notes from the said person’s paper.
The male whispered a “oh no.” and a small appreciative breath of words for the compliment. He felt butterflies flutter inside his stomach, chest heaving in a very erratic manner, he just heard a compliment.
With feeling elated by it, the recess passed without anything happening, the bell rung.
“Thanks for the notes Jongguppie!” She muttered before tucking her notebook back in her bag.
Jongup smiled awkwardly, gathered his own notes and walked lazily away from her sit to his, but well before he could actually leave completely Jongup swore he heard something like “he lets me copy his assignment” “wow should I try complimenting him next time?” “yes, he’s a sucker for it.” Then a cackle.
But maybe he was just imagining it, a simple trick his mind did trying to ruin his beautiful ending. As long as he’s happy, nothing else matters.
