A poem. *ahem* Butorides viscerens Tool use thing I am very busy Green herons are best herons Fact This isnt a poem Green Herons are among many avian peoples (well basically all aves within the arbitrary borders of the US) under greater threat from casual genocide and habitat destruction due to the recent alterations made by the US Fish and Wildlife Service that now *specifically* allows incidental possession of feathers and dead bird parts by companies doing industry, who before were still legally allowed to commit said atrocities including intentional habitat destruction but had to, *gasp*, face fines and the most toothless of legal action imaginable! However, it is still technically illegal, if not generally enforced for me as a citizen scientist or naturalist to collect many bird feathers. Idk what action I'd suggest in reaction to this information? Just a general reminder that our society isnt somehow (???)
