⋆ - A ship I have with my character.
[Hmm… to be honest, I wasn’t quite sure who I’d ship Arden with in the canon universe at least. I feel like I’d have to rp it out to be certain.
I ship her friendship-wise with Lalan and Jaeger, as of right now. ^-^
But I am definitely 100% open to shipping her with anyone romantically, friendshiply, or anything else, if anyone would even want to.]
30 Days of Character Development: DAY 1
1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?
◦"I never imagined you were so… ticklish."
Although she’s now covered from head to toe in drool, yeesh that’s going to take forever to get out of her hair, she’s still giggling and her sides ache. She never expected that to tickle so much!
She laughs so hard, she can’t help the unladylike snort that comes out, “Oh, god. No more, please, I can’t take anymore,” she chuckles, gently nudging Jaeger’s nose to the side with her hand after he gives her another playful lick.
It’d been so long since she’d been tickled by her father as a small child, she’d completely forgotten how fun this kind of torture could be. She smiled up at the bestial titan, wiping some drool off her face, “Give me a little while to recover, okay?”

✈: Where in the world I’d most like to go on holiday.
"Home. It be so nice, to just go back home. It would be nice to go back and see my family. And to see how my little sister and brother have been growing up."
[Definitely, Florence, Italy. I’ve been taking Italian in school, so I’d be nice to practice speaking it in such a gorgeous place.]

49- Do you have any phobias?
"I wouldn’t exactly say it’s a phobia exactly, but I’m not fond of dark places…"
[Nope, no phobias here! But I don’t like heights and I can’t go on roller-coasters or a lot of other amusement park rides because I get nauseous. So I go on the kiddy rides. ^-^’]

"Hm, I’m feeling pretty good right now. Uh, thanks for asking,"

6- Age you get mistaken for:
"I’ve usually been mistaken for being either 23 or somewhere in my early 20’s. I guess I just have a more mature look then most my age."
[Different people have told me different ages. I’m unfortunately shorter than my 12 year old sister so when I’m with her, I’ve been asked if I was 15, and when I’m by myself I can usually pass for like 20. It’s a little odd to be honest. ^-^’]
29- What would you say is your best quality?
"My best quality? Um, well, I’ve been told I have strong character? EIther that, or that I’m a very loyal person."
[Oh gosh. This is really tough. I’ve never really thought of that. I think I’m a very compassionate individual. My friends have told me on occasion that I’m too nice…]

208. remorse
Her foot slipped and she started to fall. A little hand extended out, to grab, to reach, to save, but it was too late. A shrill scream echoed throughout the farmstead, as blood pooled around her head, soaking the hay strewn around the floor. The brunette stood there trembling, eyes screwed shut, with her hands clamped tightly around her ears in an attempt to block out the piercing cries.
The red door of the barn suddenly cracked, the wood splintering as a large boot crashed through it. A hand quickly followed, releasing the locking mechanism and retreating back through the hole just as fast.
The door slammed open, and their father rushed into the room.
“Girls! What’s-” his mouth dropped open as his gaze fell upon his smallest daughter, bawling as she lay on the floor clutching her head, red staining her messy, blonde locks.
“Shhh, it’s okay baby. Don’t cry Lorri, Daddy’s here,” he whispered as he cradled the crying young one, gently wiping her tears away.
“Sarah! Get the doctor!” He yelled, before turning to face his eldest daughter. “Arden, what happened?”
Her hands shook as she brought them down from her face, wet from the tears that streamed down her face, “Lo-Lori and I we-were only playing t-tag…” She wiped at her face and continued, “I.. I knew you said n-no running, so I lo-locked the door. But then I knocked the m-milk over by accident, and Lori tri-tripped on it. And then… And then…” Her throat closed up, burning as her words turned to sobs, and she started to cry into her hands.
Her mother came in, and took her shrieking sister from her father’s arms, swiftly carrying her from the barn.
Arden whimpered as her dad marched over, roughly squeezing her shoulders with his hands, “Arden, I’ve told you a hundred times, not to run in the barn!” He lightly shook her back and forth, and she saw tears in his eyes as he peered back at his wife and child. The harsh voice of his whispers echoed in her ears, “Why didn’t you listen? Why didn’t you just listen?”

“Listen! Arden, I need you to pay attention!” Her squad leader yelled, drawing her attention.
“You need to retreat and regroup with what’s left of our squad! Do you understand me!”
“But, I-”
“Now Arde-”

The brunette shook off the memories, wiping off the sweat forming on her brow. Shaky hands desperately clutched what was rest of her leg, her nails digging into the throbbing stump. Her eyes burned as she held back tears, lips mouthing the words that wouldn’t leave her mouth.
“I’m so sorry…”

Arden never really got sick on the farm at home. Unfortunately due to the amputation, she went through a period of infection, where she was delirious with fever for a few weeks. Due to the complications with her injury, as well as having to be more cautious in general after the loss if her leg, she is more wary of her personal hygiene and does her best to be clean and wary or any possible illnesses.

Arden is the eldest in her family, sister to two younger siblings, a brother and sister. When she was helping her father fork hay into their farmhouse as a small child, she agitated one of the animals, who reared up and kicked her hand. She accidentally pierced her hand with the pitchfork and has a small scar on her hand from where the cut healed over.

After her injury, Arden has found happiness, and has to continue to find happiness in completing day to day tasks and the people around her. Trying to stay happy as an amputee is difficult for her, so she relies pretty heavily on others to continue to be happy. But the friendship and kindness from others go along way.

Arden doesn’t get angry often, or tries not to, as she can’t release the emotion in a physical way anymore. Unless she is furious to the point she can’t control herself, she just keeps the anger in, where is stews and stews until she either forces it to recede, or boils over. When angry, her body will shake and she clenches her teeth. When she loses control of her anger is when she actually voices her anger, often exploding with a few swears here and there.

Arden’s body is rather average for someone her age, but she is more muscled than the average young woman. I headcanon her at 5’5’’ and weighing 130 lbs. Her arms are more defined than most due to the hard farm work she went through the training to join the survey corps. She has a few scars on her hands and lower arms from small incidents on the farm and some scar tissue on the stump of what’s left of her leg. Her right leg is more muscled due to having to compensate for the rest of her body weight usually taken up by the left leg.

There have been and will be times when Arden will struggle with feelings of uselessness and self-doubt. Her injury will constantly be a source of mental pain and anguish for her. She infrequently have nightmares about losing her leg, but when she does, they are often accompanied by a bouts of phantom pain, where her leg used to be.

Although love would be nice to have, in Arden’s case, she has trouble seeing someone loving her in the future, due to her low self confidence. As a child, she had an innocent experience with a childhood sweetheart, but no other relationships as she grew up. (I don’t have a headcanoned sexuality for Arden, so I wouldn’t mind rping a romantic or sexual relationship with basically anyone.)

Arden is not particularly religious, even though she grew up in a religious, yet not strictly religious, family. She quietly went along with whatever her family was doing, but felt weird about it because she didn’t believe in God like the rest of her family. The Survey Corps was a break from that lifestyle, and though she no longer takes part in the prayers and other behavior, she is familiar with some, and does respect the religions of the people around her.

Growing up on a farm in Wall Rose, Arden and her family always ate relatively well, mostly eating what they grew themselves. She can tell the difference between fresh ingredients and ones that are not so fresh, due to her upbringing.
