Almost no safety measure works 100% of the time, this is almost too banal to state. And most safety measures ARE PART OF A LARGER WHOLE and using only one while actively disregarding the rest won't fucking work.

"vaccines don't stop infection" my ass. they work. they don't work 100% of the time, and they aren't meant to work by themselves.

other important measures: international availability of vaccines (no patents), masks, good ventilation, social distancing, working from home, lockdowns if necessary, quarantine, contact tracing (that last one is futile now bc the cases are spiralling out of control bc we actively ignore everything epidemiologists tell us and have been telling us for years)

imho the catastrophic failures to respond adequately to this pandemic lie mostly with those in power, but damn if denialists aren't gleefully making everything worse than it already is.
