Every trip through the Outrealm Gate was a gamble. Though some control could be exerted on it to guide oneself to where one wanted to go, more often than not its whims proved too overwhelming. Even more confusing was the seeming blurred distinction over whether one was being sent to a spirit realm inhabited by Einherjar, or the real deal, populated with the real period people.

Generally it was the former, but Elysia, by this point a veteran gate-hopper, could feel out the difference, typically, and this time she was most certainly NOT in an Einherjar realm.

Where exactly she was, she couldn't say, but the land looked somewhat worse for wear, seemingly freshly fought upon. Though no fallen soldiers remained on the field, the place had the sense of conflict still in the air.

The tactician was too busy getting her bearings to notice the local nearby.
