Hey guys, sorry for the lack of art, I've been very sick for the past week and half. I'm trying to get back into the routine of drawing, so I'm doing a sketch a day for the remainder of this week, since even just doing something like this drained me.

I’ve decided to leave all my reference sheets with white backgrounds, it makes it easier to see any text I add.

Aree: An Art Timeline

I’m going to go ahead and post Aree’s designs, redesigns, and changes over the years, since I don’t think I’ve ever done that before.

Aree started out as an unnamed fursona dragon way back in January of 2016, this is when she first had any kind of design at all (fursona wise, I felt like a dragon was right for me as early as 2008, but had never put the idea to paper)

Over time, I did draw this design and found it very just, but it just...wasn’t me. By March of 2016, I decided to see if I liked the look more as a pony-dragon instead.

Eventually, I gave up on the anthro idea and went with a full feral dragon design in December of 2016.

Which not even a full month later became Ari, my Undertale sona (and main fursona). This was also the first time ever I had a name for Aree, Ari was short for Arial (because she was a skeleton dragon).

Ari stayed this way for 3 months, at which time I realized she was becoming less of my sona, and more of an Undertale OC, so I completely changed her.

I took the original pink design, and Ari’s design, and made this, this first version of the current Aree in April of 2017.

Sometime within a week of Aree being as she was, she lost the tattoo and gained colored wings, which lead to the design she’s been known for for the last year and a half.

To excuse Aree’s constant changes in appearance, she is explained to be able to shape-shift, and has several forms currently in-use that I’ve designed over the last year or so.

As I and Aree mature, I’m sure new forms and appearances will be underway, as is noticeable by my icon. She does have a new look, but Im not ready to fully release it yet, as only the waist-up is done in the design. But I do have a preview of it;

And that’s been Aree’s art story over the last almost 3 years! I’ve loved drawing her so much, and I hope to enjoy having her as my sona for many moons to come.
