Good luck to the Argentina Pumas at 2015 Rugby World Cup
The 2015 Rugby World Cup begins September 19 in England with 20 nations vying to become world champions, and EXOS is proud to be supporting the Argentina Pumas for their third straight Rugby World Cup appearance.
EXOS first began supporting the Pumas with performance training and nutrition support in preparation for the 2007 Rugby World Cup, where the Pumas came in third, their highest-ever finish at a Rugby World Cup. EXOS also supported the Pumas in 2011 when they reached the quarterfinals, losing to eventual champions New Zealand.
In addition to EXOS' support of the Pumas at the 2007, 2011, 2015 Rugby World Cup, EXOS provides continuous training support to the team throughout their play in the Rugby Championship, where they play annually against New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa.
“The guys have so far dealt well with an extremely difficult preparation, in which they had to prep for the forthcoming World Cup, whilst playing a shortened version of the annual Rugby Championship, said Keir Wenham-Flatt, the EXOS performance specialist supporting the Pumas. "However, the guys were extremely diligent in their efforts to train, eat, and recover well during this period and have emerged relatively unscathed with a great win against South Africa to show for their efforts."
Wenham-Flatt continued, speaking about the team's preparation for the World Cup, saying, "Over the past month or so we've taken advantage of the last few opportunities to ramp up the physical stress on the players, getting in our final block of position specific power, maximal strength, and maximal speed and acceleration work. The guys are now in a great place mentally and physically and can't wait for the challenge of meeting world champions New Zealand in game one of the group stage.”
EXOS wishes the best of luck to the Pumas as they begin their 2015 Rugby World Cup campaign.
