another school day meant another 50/50 (more like 20/80) chance that gold would go to school. today, he’d decided he didn’t want to go, instead opting to sleep in until noon and spend the day on the couch. really, his grades were probably better when he skipped. he did feel bad for worrying his mother by doing so poorly, but it wasn’t as if he was improving anytime soon.
the door clicked open and silver entered -- gold hadn’t expected him to come home this early (or maybe it was early to him because he only woke up a few hours ago). comfortably curled up in blankets on the couch, he didn’t bother properly welcoming him in or anything. instead, he curled up more, looking absolutely pathetic in his pajamas, playing a video game.
“yo, sil,” he greeted, giving barely more than a nod of the head as a proper greeting. “do they decide to end the school day earlier and earlier when i don’t show up or what?”
