Ted Baker Window Design project...
I hated this project, I thought I would love it, but I found it really hard and boring...
Then I remembered something Hamish Muir said about "creating a system". So instead of creating a window design, I have created a system for Ted Baker Window Design, which allows for freedom in the store, and a level of individuality which I think is lacking from the highstreet... (I'm not entirely sure this is what Hamish meant, but life is 90% interpretation...surely?)
The system that I chose to implement was inspired by looking at curiosity shops and junk shops’ windows. I wanted something that looked random, but at the same time I will impose a format which makes the whole thing readable as a Ted Baker window.
Format:
Items that are too small to be floor standing are to be hung from the ceiling. Photos or posters to be posted at the back of the window.
The background of the window is to be white.
The window will include:
1. Representation of a human form
2. One element which reflects the city (for example a band poster or a model of a well known landmark)
3. A visible light source (other hidden light sources can also be used)
4.An item of clothing or an accessory (from Ted Baker)
5. One thing that is completely up to the staff at the store to choose.
So, these are my two boards...
