Day 1 of learning about politics/history/patriarchy so that I can argue with people :D
Classism - The institutional, cultural and individual set of practices and beliefs that assign differential value to people according to their socio-economic class; and an economic system which creates excessive inequality and causes basic human needs to go unmet. (Google definition)
Communism - The belief that everyone deserves basic human rights and needs; like food, clothing, shelter, education, bodily autonomy, etc. Equality of opportunities and benefits.
Karl Marx is popularly known as the father of communism. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote The Communist Manifesto in 1848.
They emphasized the class struggle that exists in the society as a whole, including exploitation of working class humans. The basic idea of communism is to fight against classism. Where nobody is treated differently just because they are rich or poor.
We live in a Capitalist society. Which is basically the opposite of communism. The wealth keeps flooding for you if you're rich and if you're poor you get poorer and basically your life/work/livelihood is in the hands of the "rich"
