sorry i never replied. everyday is blending together and i'm losing sense of time
Sherlock Holmes I love you in every adaptation and iteration
"What is wrong with you?" Honestly, I don't know. I wish I did though; I try to understand, to suppress, to run away but there's no hiding that there's something deeply wrong with me. I just wish I knew so I could make you understand, to make you stay.
the unending spiral of "do I hate my dad because I hate myself" or "do I hate myself because I hate my dad"
Younger sibling core is hearing your parents say "We don't have to worry about you cause you're always talking and laughing, it's your elder sibling that we have to worry about they're always quiet." Like, thank god I learnt to suppress my emotions :)
Happy Independence Day to whoever thinks that our freedom fighters fought for this India today.
I think they'd be ashamed of the citizens more than the people in power. "Why aren't these people doing anything" they'd say with shame.
Happy Independence Day to whoever thinks that our freedom fighters fought for this India today.
Random fun fact about Rakshabandhan
It is supposed to be tied to your brother not just for him to protect his sister, but as a reminder. Don't look at other women with lust, look at them like they're your sisters. Which kinda makes sense; when you're in trouble, your own brother won't necessarily be there to help you, but someone else's brother might.
I guess it all went wrong when we started making fun of the "All Indians are my brothers and sisters" in our pledge.
Day 1 of learning about politics/history/patriarchy so that I can argue with people :D
Classism - The institutional, cultural and individual set of practices and beliefs that assign differential value to people according to their socio-economic class; and an economic system which creates excessive inequality and causes basic human needs to go unmet. (Google definition)
Communism - The belief that everyone deserves basic human rights and needs; like food, clothing, shelter, education, bodily autonomy, etc. Equality of opportunities and benefits.
Karl Marx is popularly known as the father of communism. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote The Communist Manifesto in 1848.
They emphasized the class struggle that exists in the society as a whole, including exploitation of working class humans. The basic idea of communism is to fight against classism. Where nobody is treated differently just because they are rich or poor.
We live in a Capitalist society. Which is basically the opposite of communism. The wealth keeps flooding for you if you're rich and if you're poor you get poorer and basically your life/work/livelihood is in the hands of the "rich"
Wanna learn more about politics, history and patriarchy/misogyny so I can confidently argue with people and make them shut up :D
Random fact I found out on the internet :
Stockholm Syndrome isn't real. When the experiments were conducted, the woman understood that her life was in the hands of her captor; so as to survive she had to keep the captor happy. It wasn't love. It was survival. And the scientists assumed she fell in love with her captor.
getting zero notes on a post is like damn 😭 ok ill shut up sorry
Women could never hate men as much as men hate women. But we should try.
"I'll be the first woman in my family who is disgustingly over educated" is not something I will never pride on. They were not just 'not allowed to study', they were not allowed to live, to exist.
also what if the women in my bloodline who were alive around 1100- 1400 AD were actually disgustingly over educated????????????(not degrees, education about vedas and puranas)
Next time a guy asks me if I "give the wrong signal while taking a turn" or "use my legs as brakes" I'm gonna ask him if he "eve teases every other girl on the road" or "touches women inappropriately at crowded places"
Reblogging this cause this just happened today and I said the same thing and he obviously started whining about "not all men"
