I loved Argyle, and I really hate that people are still shitting on his character. There was more to him, but people just saw him as the comedic relief and nothing more. He was a great character, and I wish we could have seen more to him. I was disappointed that not only did he not get welcomed back but not even mentioned. Was he one of the few who might have escaped Hawkins before lockdown? Maybe but we don't know that for sure. . .Maybe he got killed trying to escape. . .again, we don't know whether he did or not. We're just supposed to assume. He risked his life to bring them to Hawkins. He deserved an honorable mention. Instead, we get Steve and Nancy dissing Jonathan for smoking weed even though Steve's smoked weed before. It was like they were insulting Jonathan's character in season 4 when that's how Jonathan was coping with everything and for once got to be a stupid teenager. Argyle was like one of his only friends. Though I like shipping them, too, he could have been a great friend to Jonathan like Robin was to Steve. It honestly didn't make sense for Steve to make the weed comment when he smoked weed himself. I don't know. Some of that dialogue felt like a giant middle finger to Argyle and Jonathan. Anyway, I just saw an anti Argyle post by accident, and it just ticked me off. I'd rather have seen Argyle delivering them goods than Murray. With Argyle, it makes sense because he's more friendly. I know I said that before, but I'll say it again. I also know Argyle wouldn't have let Murray try and weasel his way into suggesting Jonathan taking advantage of Nancy's tragedy. It would have been good to see Argyle become properly angry. As annoyed as I am about how they treated Vickie, at least she made it into season five. Argyle didn't even rate a mention, and it still ticks me off. I try to write him into my fanfiction as much as possible. I like the last name "Hernandez" for him because it means "voyager" or "brave traveler," and I think it suits him. ❤️
