summary: Usually Argyle comes late at night to sneak Jonathan out to smoke, but tonight he knocks on your window.
WARNINGS: just cussing <3
a/n: i literally was smiling throughout writing this while things to the point where my cheeks hurt :/. I hate being delusional. Also, I don't really know how fluff works so if this gets your feet kicking, let me know.
Ever since you and your family moved to California, you’ve always had each other. If someone needed help in a subject, you guys would confide in eachother. Jonathan though was the successful one and actually made a friend. Argyle. You thought he was super nice and honestly wanted to get to know him more. Yet, those two were inseparable sometimes. The only time you didn’t see him is when it was time for bed. Yet, in the morning you knew they were together at night when Jonathan would wake up smelling like pot. Poor Will had to wake up to Jonathan sneaking back in yet again.
Except for tonight, Argyle knocked on your window. El fortunately didn’t hear it. You were up studying for some test you had on Monday. You walked up to the window opening it, coming face to face with him.
“Hi.” He whispers, he looks nervous. Argyle was just staring you down not knowing where to go from here.
“You know Jonathan’s room is the other window right?” You as you mindlessly point to whichever side it is.
“I’m not here for Jonathan, dude.” He says rubbing his hands together. This whole encounter is starting to get weird. You cocked your head to the side like a bird waiting for an answer.
“I want to take you out.” He mumbles. This was surprising to say the least. You beam to the thought of him coming all this way for you. You look at El, sleeping in her bed. Then it hit you.
“I’m still in my pjs though!”
“Dude, don’t worry about it. We’re probably gonna pick up something to eat and then just chill.” He reassures.
“But–”
“Don’t. Worry.” He says putting a hand on your shoulder, trying to calm you down from this
“Give me a second.” You tell him, you went to grab your bag filled with essentials and turned off the lamp light. Argyle was patiently waiting for you on the other side of the window. You reach the window and stealthily go through, hoping to not make much noise. He helps you as much as he can. Once out you straighten yourself up, patting down any sort of dust off of your sweat pants. Argyle watches you swat the dust off and waits for you.
“Let’s go, dude!”
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
If there is one thing about Argyle, it’s that he’s true to his word. The two of you went to go pick up some greasy burgers and as soon as you guys got your food, he took you to a beautiful scenery. It was in the mountains, watching over the little town of Lenora. It was breathtaking. The two of you sat in comfortable silence watching the streets from a far. The van side door was open, allowing the two of you to sit next to each other to watch the tiny town.
“Argyle,” You say, taking a sip from your drink, “what was the purpose of all of this?”
“What? I can’t hang with my favorite Byers?” He says, giving you a little push.
“Favorite? Yeah, right.” You give a little chuckle to show your amusement.
“Yeah, my favorite!”
“Argyle, you barely know me.”
“This is me trying to get to know more of you, man.” He says as he tosses his wrapper in the car. “Is it working?” He asks, drinking the rest of his drink.
“Well, tell me. What do you know about me?” You say putting down your cup and face towards him.
“Well, I know that you have a family—”
“Really? Do I!” You kid.
“Hey! I wasn’t finished,” he says as he playfully pushes you again “, as I was saying, before I was interrupted. You have a family, a kind one. The kind of family that will take anyone in, no matter the situation. You love your family too. It’s like a little creepy how far you would go for your family. Like this one time, Jonathan told me this story about how you fought some sorta dog with this one dude to protect something, I don’t really remember.”
“To be fair, that wasn’t a normal dog!” You quickly shout.
“Yeah, okay, well someone should get PETA on you, asap.” He huffs. It was your turn to playfully slap him.
“Hey, man. I’m just saying! If I heard you, dog, and bat in the same sentence, obviously I’m gonna be worried. That’s like grade-a psycho behavior.”
“So, I’m a psycho too?”
“Dude.”
“Okay, I’m sorry– I’ll stop with the accusations.” You say pulling your hands up.
“Good! Okay, back to what I was saying! You have this sorta at-home vibe.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You say tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
“Well, when I’m with you, I feel calm. Like I’m at home.” He says, turning towards you. The air around the two of you feels euphoric. It’s calm and sweet and you honestly had your breath taken away.
“Or something like that, I don’t know. It’s just an observation or something like that, I think.” Argyle stutters out. You smile from ear to ear, watching Argyle trying to play it off.
“Well, can I tell you what I think about you?” You say placing your hand over his. Argyle looks down at the hand touch and nods.
“I think you're super sweet. I’m happy my brother got to meet such a nice guy and I’m happy that our family was able to make you feel comfortable. I also love your hair, by the way. It’s like super pretty and each time I see you i just want to play with it but, like, I obviously stop myself because that’s an invasion of privacy and I totally understand–”
“You can play with it, I don’t mind.” He cuts you off. You smile up to him and blush a bit.
“I also think that you're hilarious. I hate to say it but your dumb jokes always put a smile on my face. Ugh– it’s so dumb sometimes!” You say covering your eyes, thinking about the stupid fart joke he cracked.
“Hey, my jokes are not dumb! They’re perfect!”
“Yeah, perfectly stupid.” You laugh out loud. Argyle sits there, showing how his ‘feelings are hurt’.
“This sucks, I come over to try to give you a good night and I’m getting bullied. You know what, Will might be my favorite now.” He says crossing his arms trying to not let the smile on his face show even more.
“I’m kidding! I’m kidding,” you say grabbing your side “, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it, it just came out.” You’re hunched over trying to breathe, that’s when Argyle takes you by surprise.
“I also think you look pretty.” He whispers. For some reason, he thought he said that in his head but it came out by surprise. You blush at the comment and look up at him.
“What?” You say smirking.
“I said you look shitty.” He blurts out. Your cheeks hurt from smiling so much, that one sends you over. You're gasping for air trying to breathe from laughing. You could even feel tears forming. Argyle watches you laugh and decides to join in.
“God, I fucked up big time, didn’t I?” He asks as the two of you finally calmed down.
“Fucked up, majorly. It’s okay, though, it’s sweet.” You say wiping a tear or two.
“If it makes you feel any better, I think you look shitty too.”
“It makes me feel amazing.”
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
As the night finally came to an end, Argyle finally took you back home. As you reached your window, you turned back to him. The cold chilly air surrounds the two of you so you need to get this out of the way. He helped you climb back through the window and waited for you to be comfortable.
“Thank you for the night, Argyle.” You whisper, holding yourself to get a bit warmer. A rush of confidence fills your veins and you kiss his cheek. Argyle stays there completely still like a board. “Get home safe, Argyle.” You say as you finally close the window.
“Yeah, of course, I’ll get home safe. I’ll get home super safe, you don’t have to worry about me.” He stutters as he watches you close the window. Through the closed window you wave him goodbye and he finally makes his way back to his van with a smile that won’t leave his face until he’s knocked out. As you watch him leave, you hear the lamp light click.
“Well, what do we have here?”
Your eyes wide open as you turn around to see your mom sitting next to a very worried El.
Summary: Whilst high, you find yourself admitting things to your friend Argyle that surprised you both.
Warnings: Use of weed, kissing whilst high, fluff, friends to lovers(?)
A/N: So I've been thinking of writing an Argyle fic for a while now but this ask prompted me to finally do it and write this. Hope you like it! <3
Also, this is my first time writing for Argyle so if it's not completely character accurate then I apologise. :)
You couldn't help the sudden emotion that bubbled up your throat as you stared up at your friend Argyle, his cap slightly crooked on top of his head as he set the joint you were sharing down in the ashtray.
"Dude...what's with the waterworks?" He asked, turning to face you with a look of concern clouding his eyes.
You hadn't even realised you were crying, but when you lifted your hands to your face to find your cheeks wet, it became evident that you were, in fact, crying.
You shrugged, releasing a heavy sigh as you leaned into him. "I really like you ya know?"
He offered you a lazy smile. "I like you too."
"No, but...I like you...like, really." You weren't entirely sure what you were trying to get across exactly, but you continued regardless of this. "Like...I think...I'd like to kiss you...ya know?"
Argyle's eyes turned wide then as he stared down at you. "Woah." He muttered, surprise evident in his features.
Silence pressed in over you both then as you continued to stare at each other, Argyle's eyes still wide, his mouth slightly agape. Oh, how you wanted to put your lips on that mouth.
Not a single word was passed between you both as you sat quietly, contemplating your next move. He hadn't yet informed you of his stance on this, but you could feel yourself slowly losing any ounce of self control you had. Maybe it was just the weed, but you knew for a fact that right now, all you wanted to do was kiss him.
So you waited a moment, taking a sharp inhale, before leaning closer to him, the silence between you suddenly becoming incredibly heavy as you inched closer.
You noticed his bottom lip quivering slightly as he focused in on your mouth, his body clearly tense as he waited for you to connect your lips with his.
And when you finally pressed your lips against his, your whole body seemed to come alight, a fire igniting over your skin. Your hands wandered up to his face, your fingers dancing over his cheek as you leaned further into him.
He seemed to be relaxing into the kiss now, his hands gliding around your waist to rest on the small of your back, until he finally pulled you to straddle his lap, your bodies melting together as you continued to desperately mesh your lips together.
In all the time that you'd known Argyle, you'd never once expected that you'd ever be in such a situation as this with him, your mouths molded together as you breathed each other in. He was your friend, and you thought that was what he would always be. Maybe he was still just your friend even now.
But either way, the reality of what was happening between you two seemed to fill you with excitement, your lips pulling up into a smile against his mouth. And then before you could stop yourself, you were giggling into his lips.
He pulled back then, a dumb grin on his face as he stared up at you. "What's funny?"
You shook your head, your smile so wide now your jaw was beginning to ache. "Nothing, I just...I really like you, ya know?"
summary: your bestfriend jonathan came back from california and he didn't come empty handed.
WARNINGS: SMUT (18+minors dni), van sex (yet again)
a/n: well heyyyyy nice to see this again huh. anyways let me know how this is. let me know if this is piss and shit. deadass though, i have been getting schmoked out and literally just freaking finished this.
“Oh my god, Jonathan!” You screamed as you looked out your window. You rushed down the stairs, pushing past your mom and brother before finally going to the door and seeing Jonathan, your best friend ever since Will and your brother, Dustin, became friends. You and Jonathan were practically losers and were always drawn together. Everyone around you two always thought that the two of you were together, that was until he started dating Nancy Wheeler. His brother's best friend’s sister. Crazy.
“I’m guessing you already saw Nance?” You ask as you pull back from the suffocating hug that the two of you were tangled in.
“She’s in the van right now, actually,” He says pointing behind him towards the pizza van. “We’re planning to go see Steve and the others, right now.”
“Lemme go grab some proper shoes.” He nods as you run back inside to put on some regular converses on. You go to the nearest mirror and take a quick glance. You take in your appearance for a bit and rush out the door, grabbing your wallet.
As you finally make it to the van, the door automatically opens with a guy with long hair, who is actually holding the door open for you. He watches you as you whisper ‘hi’ towards him.
“Oh, uh, this is Argyle, by the way.” Jonathan says as he puts the van into drive. You introduce yourself in a hushed tone, pulling your hand out for him to shake. He looks at you, then at your hand and finally remembers to reach for your hand to shake. It was as if he forgot how to function. Argyle couldn’t know if you could feel if his hand was sweaty, to him it felt like it. You, on the other hand, think it’s your hand that’s sweating. For what felt like a minute of hand shaking, the two of you finally let go.
“So, what do you like to do for fun?” You ask.
“Argyle, do not get her high.” Jonathan says before Argyle could even say anything.
“I wasn’t planning on it, dude.” Argyle calmly states. He finally turns back to you, “I actually work at the pizza shop that owns this van. My dad owns the shop, so that’s why we got the van.” You exclaim at the fact that the van was really his.
“How long have you been working at the shop?”
“Ever since I’ve been driving.” He states very proudly. You shrug at the response, you were one to respect the ‘grind’. The two of you were mindlessly speaking back and forth, talking about his experience at the shop and how California is and how Hawkins is and what you do.
Meanwhile, Jonathan and Nancy look at the two of you through the rearview mirror. It’s like watching two idiots falling for eachother. As the two finally look away from the rear view, they share a pointed look that you and Argyle couldn’t see.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
As Steve and Robin finally ended their shift with Eddie and Vickie waiting for them at the store, the eight of you made your way to a McDonald’s to get something to eat. Just the older kids hanging out, no kid under 17 here to try and spoil the day. Everyone goes to wait in line to order, meanwhile you try to find a table big enough for you guys to pig out on. Argyle stayed by your side as you finally found the perfect seating. There were cushioned seats along the way while the other side had seats that were attached to the floor. You sat on the cushioned side while Argyle sat across from you.
“So,” You begin, trying to break the unknown tension, “, you’re Jonathan’s new best friend?” You begin to tease.
“Well, if I’m being honest, I can’t beat the original.” He admits, shrugging his shoulders.
“Why thank you.” You say as you bring your hand to your chest, meanwhile Argyle jokingly bows. The two of you begin laughing at how stupid you might look to any body around.
“You know, Jonathan told me alot about you.” He says.
“I hope it was all good.”
“Nothing but good. I sorta thought you were like his girlfriend when he first talked about you.” Argyle scratches his head, avoiding eye contact again.
“Oh my god–No! God no, Jonathan is like a brother to me–oh my god.” You revolt at the thought of dating Jonathan. “I mean like I sound like an ass but Jonathan and me, yuck!” Argyle chuckles at your reaction and scratches his neck.
Finally as the others finally come back to the table with either own meals, you and Argyle finally go up and order your choices. You were contemplating on what to get, Argyle though figured out what he wanted.
“Can I get the..filet o’ fish meal. Please.” You scrunch your face at his choice but you weren’t really going to judge it, you were going to remember that. “What about you?” He turns to you and asks.
“I’ll just get an order of fries and a drink please.” You say as you reach out for your wallet. Little did you know, Argyle already paid for the two of you. “Argyle you didn’t have to pay for me.” You say as you hold onto his arm, lightly.
“Nah, don’t sweat it dude. It’s like 2 bucks.”
“Yeah, two bucks I had.” You tease as you pop your hip out a bit.
“And you still have it.” He says, smiling down at you. You playfully roll your eyes as you put your wallet back into your pocket.
Meanwhile, back at the table where everyone was waiting for you two.
“Okay, I’m gonna say it right now, does she like the new guy?” Robin blurts. The other six have been watching the two of you interacting this whole time.
“Great, so I’m not the only one who sees it.” Eddie says as he picks a fry from Steve. Steve tried to swat his hand out of the way but ultimately was late.
“I’ve been in a car with Argyle for like three days, I’ve never seen him act this way.” Jonathan says as he puts his drink down after taking a sip.
“And like we’ve been with y/n for like ever and not once does she act like this.” Vickie mentions.
“Maybe this is a good thing.” Nancy suggests, trying to see the brighter side in all of this. Everyone nods their head, agreeing meanwhile Steve is on the cusp.
“Yeah, but she just met the dude.” Steve mentions. He has this thing where he plays older brother with anyone remotely younger than him. He doesn’t know it himself but everyone else around him can see it a mile away.
“And what about it? What about love at first sight, Stevie.” Eddie teases. This time Steve just gives him an unamused look and shakes his head pointedly.
“Shit, they’re coming back, pretending like nothing happened.” Robin interrupted. Everyone snaps their head in different directions, trying to play it off as if they weren’t talking about you two. Everyone except Eddie.
“Welcome back, love birds.” Everyone around him, drops their heads in ‘disappointment’ and exhales the breath they were holding in.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
As everyone finally finished eating, it was time to go back to someone else’s house to hang out and let the food settle. Basically, the eight of you all were heading back to Steve’s house to chill. You, Nancy, Jonathan and Argyle make it back to the van while Steve, Eddie, Vickie and Robin make their way to Steve’s car. You hopped in the back seat with Argyle, scooching over to give him his space.
He’s sitting close to you, not that you don’t mind. His knee was grazing yours as the two of you were sitting next to each other. It was unspoken between the two of you that you both wanted to touch even more. Argyle on the other hand is only focused on the fact that your knees are touching. It’s like a burning sensation that is rising to his head. It’s all that he’s focusing on. You are the only thing on his mind right now and he wants more.
As you guys finally made it to Steve’s house, the two of you finally exited the van. The eight of you entered his house and made your way to the living room. Robin pulled out a copy of Children of the Corn.
“Not enough seats for everyone, so we seem like we gotta figure something out.” Eddie suggests. You could hear in his voice that he is up to something.
“Welp, first comes first serves though.” He says as he rushes to the couch. Jonathan and Steve sat on the couch and there was one seat left. Nancy made her way to go sit on Jonathan’s lap, meanwhile Vickie and Robin already settled to sit on the floor, pillows supporting them. Just as you were about to sit on the floor, Eddie reaches for your wrist and pulls you into Argyle’s lap. You yelp as you feel yourself being pulled by Eddie. For some reason he’s playing matchmaker and it’s working.
“Oh god, I’m sorry Argyle!” You apologize, before you try getting up, Argyle holds onto your waist softly.
“It’s fine, stay.” He says, letting his hand now linger on your waist.
“Perfect.” Eddie says underneath his breath. Steve elbows him for meddling between the two of you. Meanwhile, Robin puts in the tape for Children of the Corn and turns off the light.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
About thirty minutes into the movie, you were squirming in your seat. You try to get up to get yourself a drink until Argyle holds you back. You whisper to him that you need to get you something but he avoids eye contact with you. You look at him confused as to why he’s acting this way and when you try to get up again he’s still holding onto you.
Then it hits you, you could feel underneath you that he was hard. You widen your eyes as you look down, you could feel yourself warm up with the thought of you doing this to him, then you turn your head left and right to see what the others are doing.
Jonathan and Nancy have their eyes watching the screen. Steve and Eddie on the other hand have fallen asleep. Robin and Vickie are still on the floor, eyes glued to the screen as well.
Thankfully, an idea popped into your head. You stretch your arms, ‘yawning’. You put on a display that you’re tired and wanting to go home.
“Hey, guys,” you begin. “I think I’m going to go ahead and clock out. I’m ‘bout to pass out.”
“You need me to drive you back?” Jonathan asks.
“No, it’s good, I already asked Argyle and he said he’ll take me.”
“Yup, I will take her.” He says, sounding a bit like a robot. You roll your eyes and get up, you grab Argyle’s hand and help him off the couch. You grab the keys from Jonathan and the two of you make your way outside to the van.
The two of you are now outside, keys unlocking the van for you two to ‘leave’, “Uh–wow, I’m–god I’m sorry.” Argyle apologizes for his stiff friend he acquainted.
“Argyle, do you want to have sex..with me?” You ask slowly. He nodded his head rather quickly and began to breathe heavily. With your lips still attached, he opened the back of the van and went inside, shimming to give you some room.
He lays down, waiting for your next move. You crawl and straddle him as you begin to get more comfortable. His lips meet yours again eagerly as you make yourself more comfortable. You grind onto him mindlessly while his hands begin roaming around your waist.
You pull back to breathe and he whimpers at the sudden loss of touch. The sight was to die for. Argyle lay on his back, his hair all over the place free. His eye brows were furrowed and mouth open agape, waiting for you to kiss him once more. You could feel butterflies in your stomach seeing him like this, with his hands on your waist nonetheless.
You shimmy out of your pants and lift your shirt over your shoulders. Argyle looks at you with wide eyes, whispering wow underneath his breath as well. As you reached around to unclasp the bra, you could see his eyes were fixated on one thing.
As the bra falls, he watches as your breasts finally rest with no support. He thought he felt drool going down his chin as he watched your movement. What felt like twenty years of doing nothing, when in reality was like five seconds, he attached his lips onto your nipple. Sucking your breasts and massaging them in an instant. He flicks your nipple with his tongue, causing you to whimper underneath him.
All the while, Argyle is bucking his hips into you. Your underwear and his pants were the only thing between you two. With the way he was moving underneath you, it was making you lose your breath.
“Do you need me to–uhh, finger you first?” Argyle cringes as he asks. You smile down at him, breathing heavily.
“I just want you right now.” You coo.
You reach behind you to find his zipper, as you made contact with his dick, he flinched. You begin pawing at his crotch, trying to find the zipper but ultimately fail at it. Argyle finally picks up at your eagerness and does it for you, releasing your tit from his mouth and pulling down the zipper. Pulling his pants down and underwear as well in the process, his dick was finally free. He looks down to see where the two of you so desperately wanted to be touched.
His dick rests onto your ass, waiting to be inside. You look at Argyle once more, licking your lips. The sight before his own eyes could cause him to die. You straddle him, arms on either side of his head. Your mouth opens, breathing heavily aching for more. Your tits on display for him, waiting for him to put his mouth on them again and you in the way of his dick. There he could feel your ass instead.
“I want you so bad.” Argyle whimpers.
The two of you finally make eye contact. As you do, you push your underwear to the side and he reaches for his length. Not breaking eye contact, Argyle lines himself up and you slowly sink down onto him. The two of you gasp at the feeling. The warmth surrounding Argyle is making him see stars. He could feel how wet you were as he inched inside of you slowly.
He cures underneath his breath and holds onto your waist. He tries to situate himself and get himself a bit more comfortable, which causes him to buck his hips into you. You moan out loud at the sudden movement. You practically fold onto him, losing strength in your arms that were holding you up. Your chest to chest, body heat causing sweat between you two.
“You okay?” He breathes out. You whisper out a yes, the sensation of him begins to fill your mind.
He slowly began to move, his hips meeting in the middle with you. As he moves, you begin to get more vocal.
“That’s it baby– god, you’re doing so good.” You praise him. Argyle rolled his eyes back as you praised him. He could feel you get wet as he moves.
Argyle's grip on your waist begins to get tighter as the time goes on. The sound of light clapping and the van shaking could be heard. The two of you are so eager to reach your own highs. You try to regain composure and hold yourself up.
As Argyle's tempo began to get quicker. As he feels himself get closer to his own high, he wraps his arms around your and begins to buck his hips faster. The sound of the creaky van, clapping, and your own voices began to get louder.
As he kept moving, you felt a bit scared. The fact that the van was creaking because of the two of you and the clapping, it was making you aware of your surroundings.
“Argyle, we need to be quiet.” You whisper into his ear. He slowed down movements just a tad.
“Don’t worry, they’re watching a movie, they won’t even know.”
As his hips finally fall from exhaustion, you begin to slowly bounce on him. You rock on his cock, back and forth, as you take over. You gained composure again and began bouncing on his dick. Argyle groans as he swipes his hair out of his face.
You clench around him mindlessly as you could feel your own high coming. With each time you bounce down on his length, he could feel himself reach his high sooner. You moan out as he begins to buck into you quicker. You could feel him inside you throbbing as he moved. The familiar coil forms in your lower stomach as Argyle moves inside you.
Argyle could feel you tighten on him as he moved. You whine louder at how he fucks you. You furrow your eyebrows and fall onto his chest. You try to cover your mouth to muffle yourself.
“Argyle.” You whine out. “We need to be quiet.” You looked down at him and made eye contact.
“You know,” he says in between strokes “, if they were to wake up because of us, I would not care.” He teases you.
“You gonna cum?” He whispers into your ear. You nod silently as he moves.
As his strokes began to get sloppier you finally reached your high. You scrunched up your face as you felt yourself finally let go. As you come around him, you tighten around him. As he watched you finally release, he began to lose his rhythm. His hips began to falter as he thrust into you. Soon enough, he came. He bucks his hips into you as he releases into you. The two of you groan out loud as he pumps his load into you.
As the two of you began to come down from your high the two of you laid together. As the two of you were breathing heavily, you both closed your eyes to rest. As you two calmed down from your high, the van side door opened.
“Oh my god!” You shout, laying on Argyle trying to cover as much as possible.
“Dude!” Argyle said as he wraps his arms around to cover you as much.
As the door opens, you see Jonthan looking down at the two of you. He grimaces as he sees the two of you. Jonathan puts his hand cover eyes and looks away from the two of your bodies.
“Dude, I thought I told you not to mess with her.” Jonathan says turning his back against you two.
“Sorry bro.” Argyle says.
“Sorry not sorry.” You say underneath your breath, smirking to yourself.
summary: while in utah, argyle meets eden. something brews inside you as the two interact and you confide in jonathan about how you feel.
WARNINGS: none i think....
a/n: this is the longest shit i ever wrote and it took me like three days. holy shit
Ever since Jonathan arrived in California with him and his siblings, he’s been attached to you and Argyle. It started with Argyle and him having one or two classes with him and then suddenly he’s giving him and his siblings rides to and from school. Before it’s been just you and Argyle but it was nice to add a new face into the mix. You got to know a lot about Jonathan, especially about his whole girlfriend situation. He’d come to ask you for help about him and his girl, Nancy, considering you might be more helpful than Argyle. You would go to Jonathan to help you with your boy problems a.k.a. Argyle. He knew you had a crush on him. You told him, when you were high, on accident.
It was an instance where you and Argyle were alone. Like the time you made a friendship bracelet with him. He made one for you and you made one for him. Ever since you two made them, you both haven’t taken it off since. Or the time that you stole Argyle’s hair tie back in sixth grade and ever since then his hair has been down but he always kept a bunch of hair ties for you. All these tiny moments made your heart swell at the thought of Argyle. You appreciate him and formed a crush on him over the years.
Ever since Jonathan found out that you liked Argyle, you’ve always gone to him for advice. You would vent to him about Argyle and he would vent about Nancy. It was nice to console each other.
One thing you didn’t know about Jonathan is that he had a different life when he came from Indiana. Especially with his sister. The five of you are driving to Utah to meet up with a friend's girlfriend. You’d never thought that you’d be spending your spring break going on a search for Jonathan’s telepathic sister. Then again, you’d thought you’d never leave your own house unless it was for groceries or going to work.
Speaking of work, that’s how you got here. You and Argyle were on your way to drop off a pizza at Jonathan’s. Next thing you know, you have a man bleeding out in the trunk and you somehow made it to Utah. Stretching your weary bones, exiting the van; the five of you walk towards the door.
“I can’t feel my butt,” Argyle says as he hops out of the car, rubbing said butt “ can’t feel my butt. Can you guys feel your butts?”
“I can feel my butt.” Will says, rubbing his back. You nod at that statement as you finally feel yourself touch solid ground and finally walk.
“Everyone needs to be on their best behavior, okay?” Jonathan says, indirectly saying it to Argyle.
“Okay, why are you looking at me when you say that?” Argyle chuckles out.
“I didn’t.” Jonathan reassures.
“They’re just really religious.” Mike says looking back at Argyle.
“Yeah, and I’m super spiritual dude.” Argyle says defending himself. You cock your head to the side weighing on the fact that they are a different type of spiritual.
“Yeah, I think they’re spiritual too. Just in a different way.” Mike says facing towards Argyle before knocking on the door. You nod and hum in agreement and Argyle pushes you a bit, in a teasing manner.
Once Mike knocked on the door, a little boy covered in what you hope is face paint, answered the door.
“Oh. Hey,” Mike says confused as to why this little kid looks as if he came out of a Rambo movie, “ is Suzie here?”
The little boy shrieks and draws his arm back to release the arrow with a suction cup tip and aims for Mike’s head. Mike yelps at the arrow hitting him in precise accuracy while the little boy just walks away. As the five of you entered the house, you could hear an array of kids screaming. As Mike takes the lead into the house, you see two kids fighting on top of a dinner table. Argyle watches one of them speak in Old-English and you shake your head.
“This is my kind of party.” Argyle says with a smile.
“Jesus.” You mutter out just trying to keep on walking.
Next thing you know a little girl falls to the floor, exclaiming in pain. She holds her neck, screaming for help all the while her brother films her ‘dying’.
“Uh, excuse me,” Jonathan says, trying to get the attention of the brother that’s filming “uh, hey, we’re looking for Suzie.” The little boy snaps his finger in anger and faces towards the group.
“Can you not see that we are filming?” The little boy says emphatically. Jonathan backs away and the five of you make your way past the filmmaker and actress. Soon you walk into the kitchen to see two more kids cooking something.
“Hi, we’re looking for Suzie.” Mike says to the chefs.
“Don’t know, don’t care.” Says the one with the braid. She continues to go one to ‘Peter’ about ‘how that’s too much salt and exclaims about father’s kidney’s’. This house is getting a bit too overwhelming. Then, the kid from earlier shuts the power down in the whole house from the breaker.
“Cornelius,” shouts a dark haired lady. “, how many times do i have to tell you? That is not a toy.” She takes said Cornelius by the shoulders and leads him past you and the group. Yet, her steps falter as she walks past Argyle, making eye contact with him while she walks. Argyle looks at her star struck and makes her way upstairs.
The five of you make it upstairs to see her putting Cornelius in ‘time out’. Argyle was the first to reach the top and when she finally turned around she asked:
“Who the hell are you?”
“Argyle,” he huffs out in awe, “uh, and you are?”
“Eden.” She says softly. She seemed pretty chill and honestly, if you weren’t in the situation that you are in right now, you’d probably be good friends with her.
“Like the garden.” Argyle whispers. You and Jonathan looked at eachother and he could sense that you were a bit upset. You could feel something in your chest make you sick.
“Wow, hey, we’re looking for Suzie.” Jonathan interrupts, sneaking glances at you and Argyle.
“Do you know where she is?” Will asks as he’s behind Argyle.
“Third floor, second door on your left.” Eden responds quickly. It’s nice how efficient she is. Jonathan, Will and Mike take what they need and quickly make it to where Eden directed. You, on the other hand, waited for Argyle as he stood there watching Eden.
“You see her, you make sure to give that selfish four-eyed shit a nice little shove for me.” She says as she slowly makes her way back down the stairs.
“Absolutely,” Argyle stutters “Eden, I will shove her for you. I will do anything for you.” She descends watching Argyle and he stutters speaking softly to her. Something bubbles in your chest and you don’t really like how it feels. You shake it off, walking towards where the other three are headed and Argyle’s behind you. As Jonathan opens the door, the five of you pile in and the room is surprisingly empty.
“Well, great, she’s not here.” Jonathan says. Mike took notice of the open window and it clicked for him.
“Give her a shove.” He says quoting Eden from earlier. The four boys peeked their heads out of the window while you leaned against the wall next to the window.
“Suzie!” Mike yells out.
“Yeah,” she says, “ Who the heck are you and what are you doing in my room?” You could barely hear her from inside but you consider it a bit dangerous that this girl is on top of the roof right now.
“Sorry, that’s–that’s fair.” Mike stutters, finally realizing that they did just barge in.
“No listen,” Will says, “ We’re Dustin’s friends.”
“Yeah, we really need your help.” Mike pleads, hoping she’ll say yes. Soon enough, she comes inside and the three boys who know what they’re talking about fill her in about the Nina Project. To keep her safe, they tried to play it off as some sort of video game console.
“Okay, that is a lot to process. I mean, that might be seriously the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.” She says sitting on her bed. The boys across from her and you leaning against the wall.
“I know, it’s hard to believe.” Mike agrees.
“But it’s true, it’s all true.” Jonathan says as an attempt to reassure her.
You tuned out halfway through the conversation because you know the truth entirely. So listening to these bozo’s dig a grave for themselves is a bit tiring. Especially after what’s already been happening, this lie is just not worth your two cents. The boys seemed to lie their ass off as they said the Nina Projects location’s would be helpful for ‘Dustin’s’ birthday.
Then Eden busts in, raising her tone at Suzie, complaining about how she isn’t going to spend her entire day babysitting. To be fair she had a point. Argyle’s attention was solely on Eden’s again and that nasty feeling came back. Suzie pushes her out of her room and closes the door behind her.
“Okay, so can you help?” Will asks.
“I would do anything for Dustybun,” you cringe at the nickname as she confesses, “ but I’m afraid there’s been an unfortunate development.”
She continues on about how she changed Dustin’s grade and felt terrible with guilt ridden inside of her. She explains how her father saw that she was guilty and got her to confess that she did in fact ‘do something wrong’. Honestly, props to her for being internet savvy, way to go. She finally reached her conclusion about how her father took away her computer after hearing the truth.
“Where is it?” Jonathan asks.
“His study. He uses it for work now and Father’s always working, and his door is, like, permanently locked.” She says shoulder slumping. The others huff out in disappointment.
“I’m really sorry. Truly. But it looks like you came all the way here for nothing.” She says.
Suddenly the power shuts down again and you could hear Eden yell all the way up from Suzie’s room. You could hear Cornelius shout as well and then in a split second the power comes back on again. Suzie suddenly has a realization that could help her access the computer. Not really wanting to be in the way, you head to the nearest bathroom, trying to clear your head from everything that’s happened so far.
Meanwhile you were in the bathroom and the others conducted a plan to get onto the computer. Argyle noticed that you slipped away and tried looking for you. He runs into Eden as he was looking for you.
“Oh sorry, dude.” He apologizes for running into her.
“It’s–” She says patting herself “it’s fine.” She stutters.
“Uhm– have you seen my friend? She’s about yay-tall and like super quiet.” He says trying to describe you as best as possible.
“Sorry but I don’t know where they went.” Eden says, shrugging her shoulders. Argyle nods as she admits to not knowing where your whereabouts are. Eden begins walking down the stairs and Argyle follows her.
“Hey, you ever heard of the palm tree delight?” Argyle speaks up. She tilts her head to the side and squints, trying to understand what he meant. Argyle smiles down at her and told her to follow him.
The two of them headed inside the van and Argyle pulled out his bong and soon enough the two of them got high. As the two of them begin to settle down as they get high, Argyle lays in the back of the van, draping himself over Eden while she sits up. The music drowned in the mix of the two of them. Argyle watches Eden’s eyes as they look lower and lower at his lips. It was his turn to watch her lick his lips and soon enough she began to lean in.
Meanwhile, you step over a bunch of toys, making sure you didn’t break any of them. You turn the faucet on and splash your face with the cold water. You don’t know if you should use the towels but they were mostly decorative. You just wipe your face with your hands and shake the water off of your hands. As you're in the bathroom, the lights shut off. You hear someone scream for Cornelius and stomping down stairs. As you leave the bathroom door, you notice that the others left the room.
With that, you go downstairs and wait for the others. Suzie’s dad is racing left and right to check on his kids and walks past you, looking confused. All you could do was a tightlipped smile and a nod. He couldn’t care about you considering you weren’t causing any harm or trouble. Soon enough, he finally goes up stairs and Suzie and the others are going down.
Jonathan gestures for you to come along and the five of you head outside. As you walk out the door, you could already smell pot through the air and you turn your head towards the van. Pass the Dutchie plays through chaos and the five of you walk towards the van. Smoke fills up the van and you and Jonathan look at eachother.
Jonathan opens the van’s back door and the smoke finally clears up. You see Argyle lying in the lap of Eden, out of his mind. The ugly feeling comes back and you instantly want to throw up. You snap your head down to the bracelet that Argyle made for you and you think for a second to take it off.
“It’s time to leave.” Jonathan says, wafting the air that surrounds them. Eden frowns and gets out of the van with the help of Suzie. As she walks past you, she gives a nod. You nod back and watch as she walks into the house.
Jonathan took the driver seat while you took the passenger seat. Will and Mike hop into the back seat while Argyle is in the trunk. Jonathan starts the van and pulls out of the driveway. You face towards the window and you stay silent.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
In the first hour of driving you believe that everyone in the van, except for you and Jonathan, were asleep. You couldn’t sleep with the way your mind has constantly been on Eden and how she looked at you. Was she taunting you? How were you supposed to know, you were never going to see her again. More or less, what was the feeling you had every single time you saw the way Argyle acted with Eden.
“You okay?” Jonathan asks softly.
“What do you mean?” You say, turning your focus to him.
“You know what I mean.” He says. You furrow your eyebrows, gears turning in your head.
“Of what happened with, you know, Eden.” He says, trying to encourage you to open up.
“No, yeah. I’m fine–totally fine.” You say trying to reassure yourself.
“You sure?” He eggs on and suddenly you start feeling yourself tear up.
“Ugh–god, I didn’t want to talk about it but I guess I should before I go crazy.” You say fiddling with your bracelet. “I don’t like this feeling. It’s so stupid, it’s like my chest feels heavy and I get a headache. I feel so childish for this. When I saw the way he acted towards her, I never saw that before. It makes me feel shitty that I wish I was the one that made him feel that way.” You confess, eyes pooling with tears.
“It’s not stupid to feel that way. It’s valid,” Jonathan reassures, “ it’s just jealousy.” He says, shrugging his shoulders.
“God, that’s exactly what I didn't want to hear. I shouldn’t feel that way, it’s stupid.”
“And that’s okay! It wouldn’t be okay if you tried to do some sabotage or something like that, you know.” He tries to joke, smiling and nudging you. You say smiling and face towards the window again.
Unbeknownst to you, Argyle finally woke up. He heard you confess about how you felt when ‘he looked at her’. His mind was racing trying to think about what you meant and how you were feeling about someone else. He huffs out in acceptance, now it was his turn to feel that nasty feeling in his chest.
It’s been about two hours now that Jonathan’s been driving and finally everyone’s awake. Mike mentions how he needed to use the bathroom so Jonathan finds the nearest gas station where you guys could refresh yourselves before finding their sister.
You all hopped out of the van to walk towards the gas station. Jonathan stayed behind to fill up the gas for the van while you four headed inside. You walk through the aisle, looking for something to snack on. You contemplate on what bag of chips to choose when suddenly you feel someone standing next to you.
“Which–uh– chips you getting?” Argyle stutters.
“Oh, probably gonna get these.” You say grabbing a random bag. Not really thinking about what it was and not really caring about what it is, you keep it with you. You make your way to the drinks and grab whatever you fancy at the moment. You see Jonathan finally came inside after he finished filling up the van and he made his way straight to you.
“How you holding up?” He asks.
“I don’t know–I mean, I feel like it’s super awkward between us but I don’t know if it’s just me that thinks that or if he feels the same way.” You say sneaking glances towards him. Jonathan nods, understanding what you mean.
Meanwhile, Argyle watches you two converse. He feels left out and a bit green watching you too. The way you smile at Jonathan makes him sick, ever since you guys arrived, it’s like you’ve been avoiding him. He could feel that you were ignoring him and he didn't really understand.
You tell Jonathan that you’re going to go pay for your items so you head to the cashier. You place them down in front of the cashier and Argyle places his items down as well. He pulls out his wallet before you can bring yours out when the cashier rang up your total and paid for your snacks.
You thank him, quite confused as to why he bought it for you. He has the bag of snacks with him and hands you your snacks. As the two of you walk towards the exit, you hold it open for him. You follow right after him and see that you two are the only ones waiting in the van..
Argyle wants to say something but he’s holding back. Jonathan soon comes out of the store and you smile at him. Argyle watches you as you smile at him and the feeling you described earlier was hitting him. Jonathan takes notice of how Argyle watches you.
Will calls for Jonathan to ask him to pay for his and Mike’s snacks and he leaves you two alone. Now you and Argyle are back in silence.
“So, how’ve you been?” Argyle asks, trying to break the tension between the two of you.
“As good as someone who’s running from the government can be.” You say, opening your drink and taking a sip.
“Yeah, of course.” Argyle huffs out.
“How about you?” You ask.
“I’ve seen better days, you know.” He says and you hum in agreement. Then it went silent again. It was never this awkward between the two of you. By now, you guys would always talk about something random but nothing could be said between the two of you. Argyle sighs out feeling some sort of courage.
“So.” He starts.
“So?”
“Did I do, like, something?” He asks.
“What, what’re you talking about?” You say shaking your head, confused as to where this is coming from.
“Well I mean, ever since we got here, it’s been like a you and Byers show. Like, what about me?”
“What about you?” You say not realizing how harsh it came out.
“What about us?” He asks, shaking his head, facing towards you.
“What about us?” You say, emphasizing on the us.
“It’s always been us then suddenly Byers gets in the mix and it’s you two? I mean, it’s just crazy that the second he’s even near you, I become invisible.” He huffs out, shaking his head
“What are you talking about? You introduced me to him and, trust me, you are not invisible.” You say, raising your voice a bit.
“Well, it feels like it. Every single time Jonathan is even near us, it’s like you forget that I even exist!.” He says, raising his tone as well, tossing his arms in the air.
“Jonathan and I just talk a lot.” You say, not trying to confess with the tension between you two.
“We talk a lot as well, so why is Jonathan different?” He says, crossing his arms.
“He just is, Argyle.” You say, shoulders slumping. He shakes his head again, not understanding. Of course he couldn’t, you thought to yourself. Argyle huffs out and feels his blood begin to boil a bit.
“I’m just confused.” He says playing with his bracelet.
“I’m just as confused as you are.”
“Do you like him?” Argyle says quickly. You snap your head towards him in confusion and yelp ‘what’.
“I mean, the two of you always hang out, even without me sometimes–and don’t say you don’t hang out without me because I know you do. I mean I’m just confused as to what happened to us.” He huffs out.
“Nothing is happening to us. What do you mean?” You say, looking at him, furrowing your eyebrows.
“Maybe that’s the problem.” He said, slumping his shoulders. You start getting pissed off at all of this uncertainty.
“God, what are you going on about?” You begin. Argyle watches you in confusion. “I don’t understand you, Argyle. I genuinely don’t understand what you are talking about. Jonathan and I are friends. I can have friends, you can have friends. You’re confusing me. What do you want from me?” You exclaim, talking with your hands, flailing them around.
“I want to know if you like Jonathan.”
“Oh my god, I do not like Jonathan. He’s got a girl! Jesus, man!”
“So then, who do you like?”
“Why does it matter?”
“Because.” He stutters. In the back of his mind, the interaction of him and Eden replays.
As she began to lean in, Argyle sat up quickly. Regret fills his veins as he missed this opportunity but it was like his flight response kicked in. When he saw her lean in to kiss, all he thought of was you and what you thought of him. He fills a terrible guilt in his chest as he looks at Eden with wide eyes, trying to pat down on his jeans to get rid of his sweaty palms. He grabs the bong and hits it again before the van door opens, the two of them see the other five looking back at them. He was watching you and you had your eyes fixated on your bracelet, playing with it, trying to distract yourself. Eden watches Argyle’s line of sight and she sighs out.
“I think I like you.” Argyle says. Your mind finally stopped racing. It felt like tv static in there. The silence surrounded you two again as he confessed. You furrow your eyebrows, looking at the accessory that he made with you. In time where you thought deeply, this bracelet was the most comfort you got. It reminded you of the person that you knew cared deeply for you. That’s why you never took it off. Argyle thought the same with his. He knew that if he did, he wouldn’t have anything near him that reminded him deeply of his favorite girl.
You look at him, eyes meeting and the two of you lock eyes. Your eyes scan all over his face, trying to see if he was lying. There was only one thing that was racing in your mind.
“Why?”
In Argyle’s head, he was thinking of all the times when you were together. How when the two of you were in sixth grade and borrowed his hair tie and noticed how pretty you were with your hair out of your face. Or the time that the two of you got high for the first time in ninth grade and how you were coughing so much that you nearly threw up. He was laughing his ass off but made sure to take care of you. Or maybe it was the time you had a camera and took pictures of him, and how the next time he entered your room, he saw the pictures hanging on your vanity.
Argyle had so many reasons to like you, he was just stupid enough to realize to super late. Or so he thought. Argyle wasn’t the best with his words and expressing himself to others, so he tried his best to express how he felt towards you.
“Do I need a reason why?” He says, shaking his head.
“What about Eden?” You ask.
“She’s not you.” He says, now avoiding your eye contact. “Do you like me?”
“I do.” You say rather quickly.
“Nice.” He says, awkwardly looking down.
“God, we are not good at this are we?” You say as you chuckle.
“Yeah, we suck.” Argyle says, slumping in the seat. You finally smile at Argyle and he wishes he could brag to Jonathan at how he made you smile. Like he was secretly winning for your affection, even though he already won it a long time ago.
“Does this mean we’re like, you know, a couple now?” You whisper.
“Do you want to be a couple?” Argyle asks.
“Yes.” You quickly answer.
“Then, yeah.” Argyle says. You lay your head on Argyle’s shoulder and sigh out. He rests his head on top of yours and the two of you finally sit in comfortable silence. A smile etched on both of your faces, your snacks long forgotten because your stomach is now filled with butterflies.
In the meantime, Jonathan, Will and Mike are all in the gas station watching you two. Looking through the glass windows and saw everything that happened. From the argument to the climax and finally the ending.
“Are they done?” Will asks.
“Let’s get into the van before they start eating each other's tongues.” Mike says as he exits the store. Will and Jonathan cringe at the thought and finally make their way back to the van.
summary: majority wins in a discourse of where to eat, you were the unlucky one to go get the pizza but it doesnt feel the unlucky when you see him at the register
WARNINGS: none, i think : D
here is part 2 : )
a/n: i wrote partners last night and this one literally today. Im going out to eat and you bet your bottom dollar that im cooking up the next fic
The thing about you is that you like control. Not in the freaky way, just the way you like to know every outcome and how to find the one where you were positive that you and whoever you were with would be comfortable. Just like how tonight you and a couple of friends were struggling on what to eat. You wanted some chinese take out while the others wanted to get pizza. The four of you sitting in Janet's living room ‘contemplating’ on where to eat. You knew the answer already.
“The majority votes on pizza.” Janet said. One thing about Janet you always knew is how she always said majority wins. She’s not wrong but honestly it can be annoying.
“Fine but I get to choose the toppings!” You declare.
“That’s fine but you have to get toppings for two pies.” Chandler says. The stomach that this guy has is like an empty pit. Not that there’s anything wrong but you seriously consider if he’s ever going to regret those choices.
“I know, meathead.” You say playfully rolling your eyes.
“Wait, spin the bottle to see who goes to pick it up!” Danny says as he picks up a random coke bottle off the floor. He spins the bottle and it just so happened to land on you. You exclaim in frustration how this was unfair while the other three lay back in comfort.
“Hey, don’t hate the player, hate the bottle.” Chandler says as if that makes it better. You flip him off as you grab your bag and keys. Soon the other three put cash in the middle of the table and you grab their change.
“Anything else before I head out?” You ask out. They all shook their head no as they were already chilling watching the TV.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
You arrive at Surfer Boy Pizza and walk into the shop. The smell of oven baked pizza overwhelms your senses and the fast paced workers move as if they were bees in a colony. You see people sitting around waiting for their pizzas but fortunately there was no line. You see the cashier chilling talking to a coworker, his back towards you. You take in how his hair is probably a lot longer than it should be and consider if he’s breaking any health code violations. But he’s not making the pizzas so you should be fine. Right? The coworker makes notice of you coming in so he taps the assumed cashier for him to take your order.
“Welcome to Surfer Boy Pizza! My name is Argyle, how can I be of service to you today!” He greets very enthusiastically, looking down at the register before meeting your eyes. All that confidence he had to greet you suddenly flew out the window.
“Hi, I was wondering if I can get two pizzas?” You shyly answer back. Something about him made your heart skip a beat. Argyle. That’s what he said his name is. You think about it front to back knowing that ‘Argyle’ is probably the cutest guy you’ve ever seen.
“Yeah, perfect,” He stutters “ what, uh, toppings?”
“Oh! Yeah, can I get pepperoni on one and pineapple and ham on the other?”
“You like pineapple and ham on yours too!” He exclaims.
“Yeah, it’s like a delicacy!”
“Oh sweet, dude, me too! Honestly, one of my top favorite toppings for my ‘za.” He says, writing down the order and putting the total through the register. You nod, not knowing if you could be the only one that feels this tension between the two of you.
“Your total will be $13.96.” Argyle says, waiting nicely for you to take out your wallet. Inside your wallet you fish out for the change only to realize you were two dollars short. Panic starts coursings through your veins as you try to hastily look for any change you could possibly have. You sigh out when you finally come to the realization you have.
“Uhm, I hate to ask this but do you think I can come back in to grab two more dollars at home? I’m short a bit.” You shyly look away a bit embarrassed at the fact.
“Don’t sweat it bro, I got you!” He says waving his hand and grabbing his wallet from his back pocket.
“No, Argyle, you don’t have to do this.” You say hoping he didn’t have to pay for the rest.
“It’s just two dollars, dude, no worries.” He calmly says as he puts your cash and his two dollars into the register.
“Are you sure, I mean I could always come back and get it?” You bargain, really hoping that could come back.
“Dude, it’s fine. I gotchu, consider this a friendly gesture.” He shrugged it off. You smile and thank him for showing such kindness to you. Something in your stomach feels funny. Were you sick? Do you need to use the restroom? No this wasn’t any guttural instances where you need to be rushed to the nearest toilet. It was butterflies. It feels like shit but feels exhilarating. Little did you know Argyle was feeling the same way. As ironic as it sounds he fell a little bit when you walked through the door but when you mentioned your favorite topping he fell a bit harder.
You sit and wait for your pizzas considering it won’t be that long. You look around the shop and take it in, before you realize your pizza is already finished. You walk up to the counter and take the pizza from Argyle. You gave him a nod and thank you as you were about to head out. He has this boyish smile that makes you have goosebumps. Trying to play it off as casually as possible you balance the two pizzas into one hand to open your car door and slap the back of your neck for acting so awkward. You’re silently cursing at yourself for thinking you look like a fool back there and Argyle watched the whole thing happen. He couldn’t help himself; he was really enthralled with you. Yet, he had work to do and take the next customer's order.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
It’s been a couple days since you went to the pizza shop and once again your friends are figuring out somewhere to eat. The four of you are in Chandler’s car trying to come up with a plan on wear to pig out for the evening.
“How about pizza?” You ask hoping someone will say yes.
“Oh, hell yeah.” Chandler says as he puts the car in drive heading to the place you dreamed of.
“Just make sure we have enough money, yeah? Argyle was lucky enough to spend his own money to pay off the rest.” You say as you begin looking through your own wallet to see what you have from this week's allowance.
“Argyle?” Janet asks.
“Yeah, he’s the cashier that was working when I was there.” You mindlessly say as you grab your end of change.
“Oh! You mean the guy that you’ve been stalking?” Danny says, turning around in the front seat to look at you.
“Stalking? Stalking! I’m not stalking anyone!” You shout, emphasizing on the ‘anyone’.
“You’re being defensive–they’re being defensive, aren’t they?” Janet asks the other two as well and they agree and say ‘yup’, ‘duh’. She pushes you playfully and says, “You need to calm down, it’s okay to have a crush.”
“I’m not confirming nor denying that statement, so keep your thoughts to yourself.” You huff, crossing your arms and looking out the window. The three all look at you smirking, knowing that they’re right.
Soon enough, you arrived at the shop. All four of you exited the car and Danny opened the shops door for all of you to head inside. Janet whistles to grab your attention and point to the cashier. It was him. You felt your shoulders relax as you saw him. He was a bit messy with flour on him. Danny and Chandler look at you as if you just asked what two plus two is. The four of you made it to the counter waiting for him to come take your orders. Argyle comes up, breathless, wiping the flour off as much as possible.
“Hey, dude! Nice to see you again.” He says, failing to get the flour off and just spreading it all over him even more. You giggle at how it just spreads even more and look him in the eyes. After failing to get it off, he gives up and just looks at you, noticing you look at him. His shoulders slumps and he smiles. The other three are just watching in discomfort watching you two interact. The romantic tension is actually causing harm to them.
“Yeah, we’d like two pizzas please.” Janet says breaking the tension. Argyle looks at her and nods as he writes it down.
“Pepperoni and pineapple and ham, again?” Argyle asks as he looks up at you.
“Uhh–” you shake yourself from your thoughts, “is that alright with you guys?” You ask the others to make sure that was alright. They all agree, taking a mental note on how he remembered the pizza order from the other night. You tell him that’ll be great for the toppings.
“Anything else?” He asks, looking at you, not intentionally ignoring the others. He just wanted to hear you speak again.
“Yeah, we’ll get a couple of drinks, thanks.” Chandler says as he pulls out his portion of cash. The other two take out what they have and finally you did as well.
“That’ll be $16.46.” He says as he opens the register. You take the rest of the group's cash and see that you have well over enough. You hand the money to Argyle, he grazes his fingers over yours while taking the money. He hands you the change and the receipt as the others find a seat. You thank him and go sit next to your friends.
“Him? Really?” Danny says, throwing his thumb over his shoulder to point at Argyle.
“Shut up.”
“I’m just being real right now, bud.” Danny says, throwing his hands up in defense.
“Dan’s not wrong,” Chandler says, sneaking a glance at Argyle “ you ended a relationship with that one guy because he was too ‘laid back’ and him! He’s just as laid back– or even more laid back!”
“Yeah, dude, the two of you just don’t look.” Janet says, trailing on her words as she couldn’t find the right words to say.
“What? Don’t look like what?” You argue back.
“All I’m saying is if I saw you and him together, I’d think you’d be his babysitter.” Danny says, taking a sip of his drink.
“Wow.” You huff out, crossing your arms.
“Hey, you said you weren’t confirming or denying if you had a crush on him!” Danny exclaims trying to prove you have no reason to be upset.
“Shut up, Danny. You’re pissing me off.” You scowl as you reach for a pen from your bag. You pull the cap off and write your name and number on the receipt.
Soon enough, your order is ready and you shoot out of your seat to grab the pizzas. You have two dollars in hand and the receipt with your digits on it, content to give both to Argyle.
“Here you go.” Argyle breaths out, exhaling the breath he didn’t notice that was stuck in his throat.
“And here you go,” You say holding out the note and two dollars “consider this a friendly gesture.” With that you walked back to your friends with pizzas in hand. Argyle looks down at the receipt and two dollars and smiles. He quickly glances up to see you looking back at him and a gesture of a phone, signaling for him to call you.
“Thought you said it wasn’t a crush.” Chandler teases you as he takes the pizza from you, opening a box and stealing a slice. You flick his forehead grabbing a slice from the pineapple and ham box.

Argyle promised you something. He promised to take the two of you to an actual restaurant, the one’s where you get dressed up all fancy and have a date. He told you this well into the beginning of your relationship. A year coming up and you thought you guys were going to have another simple date. Going to eat then going to the bowling alley, followed by some desert. Yes, the sweet romantic stuff is cute but any time with Argyle is all you were grateful for. The two of you were always busy working, him at the pizza shop and you at the roller rink. So when the time rolled around for your one year, Argyle told you specifically:
“Dress up nice, like super nice, tomorrow.”
You were taken aback, wanting to ask him why but he just said to do it. How could you say no to him? When you finally agreed, you had to find something to wear. Quickly. You had already got him a gift for your one year. You had bought him a pair of sunglasses, the expensive ones and bought a card along with to show your appreciation towards him.
Going through your closet, you find this dress you’ve been holding out on. A beautiful simple dress. Obviously, you need to accessorize, so you stay up a bit to figure out what would look great.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
The day finally came. You got up early just to get ready. Since it is the anniversary, you decided a little pampering wouldn’t harm. Time passes a lot quicker when you’re relaxing and honestly it’s wonderful. Argyle called ahead of time to tell you that he’s coming to pick you up around 7. By the time you finished pampering it was 12. That was enough time to get your hair and make up done. Just a little makeup though, mascara and lipstick at most. Your hair is what is needed the most loving. Just as you finished, a knock was heard onto your door.
“Come in!” You call out, sitting at your vanity, putting on the final touches. Argyle shuffles inside your room with a bouquet of flowers and a gift. He was wearing a suit, which you hate to say, was surprising. Argyle was never really the type to get ‘dressed’. He loved dressing for comfort. It was a nice change of pace to see him dressed ‘nicer’. He looked at you in awe. It was like he was taken back to the first time the two of you met. He was in a dreamy haze watching you fix your hair.
“Hi Argyle.” You say as you finally get off of your vanity chair. Slowly, you meet him where he was standing. The two of you stand in comfortable silence and you give him a kiss on the cheek.
“Uh– here’s your gift.” He says pushing the bouquet and gift out towards you. A thank you leaves your lips as you grab them. You sit on the edge of your bed as you slowly unravel the gift. It was a small box and inside was a necklace with a heart engraved on it an A. It was beautiful. “Here, let me put it on for you.” He says as he takes hold of the necklace and puts it on you. You smile at the thoughtful gift. Once it was on, Argyle sat next to you, watching you enjoy the gift.
“Oh, Argyle,” you say, holding onto the heart “, it’s gorgeous.”
“Oh, it’s nothing really, dude.” He says, trying to shake off the compliment.
“No, dude, it really is. Thank you.” You say, smiling at him. You go to your vanity and open the drawer. Inside was his gift with the card. You hand them to him and he looks at the items in awe. He opens the card first and reads it. A blush filled his cheeks as he read your writing. On the card, you mentioned how grateful he was as a boyfriend and that you’re glad you could have someone to talk to no matter the situation. He felt loved and each day you would remind him he was. He finally opened the glasses case and gasped.
“Dude!” He says, hastily putting it on. “I’ve been saving up for these!”
“I know, I saw you eyeing it.” You say, beaming. Argyle puts them on to get a feel of it and he feels amazing in them. He gives you a peck on the cheek and a rush of thank yous leaves his lips.
“Don’t mention it dude, just wanted to get something special for my special guy.”
He stands up, glasses still on, and holds his hand out to you. You reach up and hold his hand as well. The two of you leave your room and make it outside. The usual van isn’t parked outside and you see a convertible. He said that after a whole lot of begging, his father allowed him to use it especially since it’s your one year. As the two of you walked towards the car, Argyle opened the door for you, helping you get inside. As soon as you sit down, he closes the door and makes his way to the driver's seat. As you watch him sit down you say;
“Where to next?”
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
As Argyle drives off into the distance, the wind hits your skin softly. The sun was setting and the night sky was giving a little sneak peak. The two of you arrived at a beautiful botanical garden. Argyle gets out of the car first and opens your door for you.
“M’dude.” He says as he takes your hand to help you out of the door. You roll your eyes playfully as you get out of the car. Argyle pushes the glasses you bought for him up, so it’s resting in his hair. He holds onto your hand and walks with you through the garden. You see the most gorgeous array of flowers as you walk through the aisles. It was breathtaking. As you two walked through, a flash suddenly hit you. You look up to see Jonathan with a camera in hand, taking you guys’ picture.
“He’s gonna be here, like, all night taking pics of us, I hope you don’t mind.” Argyle whispers into your ear, making sure that’s all right. You smile up to him, letting him know that you’re content. He’s still holding onto your hand and made it to a table in the middle of a pavilion. A table for two. As you guys made it to the table, he opened your seat for you to sit down and pushed you in as well. He took a seat in his chair and let out a breath he was holding. In the background, you could softly hear the sound of your favorite song playing. You smile at that little detail and feel dazed.
“Hey, lover birds,” Mrs. Byers says as she walks up to the two of you “, hope you’re having a wonderful one year so far.” She was placing down drinks for the two of you– water and your favorite drink.
“Thanks, Mrs. Byers.” Argyle says, smiling. In his head, everything is going well so far.
“Will is coming with your guy’s food, it’ll be out any minute now.” She says making sure that the two of you were aware of the food situation. As you nod a simple thank you, it is finally time for you and Argyle being alone. Well, alone with Jonathan a couple feet away with his camera.
“Argyle, what’s all this?” You ask him, amused.
“Well, I just wanted to let you have a good time. I thought, you know. Wait, do you not like it?” He says as his face drops.
“Oh my god! No, no, no! I love this! It’s so thoughtful of you, really! I just didn’t think you’d be such a romantic.” You admit.
“Well, I’m not no one-trick pony.” He says, smugly wiping ‘dust’ off his shoulder. You playfully roll your eyes and shake your head. Finally, Will arrives with the food. The scrumptious smell quickly hits your nose as he places it down in front of the two of you. It was a simple spaghetti dinner with garlic bread on the side. Will promptly leaves you two as soon as possible. You and Argyle eat your food in silence, enjoying the scenery and each other's presence. As the two of you finish eating, Jane shows up with dessert. She smiles, placing it down and leaves you two alone.
“Argyle, this is so sweet.” You say, taking a bite of the desert.
“I hope this isn’t too sweet, I didn’t really know what to pick out for you.” He says taking a bite of his.
“I’m not talking about the desert.” You giggle. When the realization hits him he laughs at his mistake. As the two of you shared the humour together, Jonathan snaps a photo of the two of you. Your head tilted back as Argyle face palmed.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
As the night sky was coming down, fairy lights surrounded the two of you. It was breathtaking. You look around you as the lights illuminated your surroundings and the flowers glow. Argyle watches you smile at the setting, getting goosebumps to the sight of you.
“This is all so lovely, Argyle. Thank you, really.” You say holding your heart out on display for him.
“I’d do anything for you.” He whispers just so that the two of you could only hear.
He gets up from his seat and walks towards yours. He holds his hand out and you take it. You walk with him back to the car, holding onto his arm, telling him how you loved tonight and you were thankful for such a sweet boyfriend. As you made it inside the car, he took his time driving you back home. Once you arrived, he walked you to the front door. You turned around before you headed inside.
“I know I’ve said this literally all night but thank you for tonight.” You say as you bite your lip, avoiding eye contact.
“Yeah, no, it’s my pleasure really. I just wanted to show you how much I love you.” He admits, avoiding eye contact as well. Love? This was the first time either one of you mentioned it. Honestly, you’d thought you’d say it first but didn’t know when the perfect time was. Not wanting to waste a second longer, you softly grab his face and give him a gentle kiss on his lips. As you both pulled back, you initiated a hug.
summary: after a nasty break up with your now ex, argyle had a plan
WARNINGS: a mean ex >:(, oh and mentions of getting high
a/n: Ik i always say this but i hope you like this. this is alot shoter than i thought it would be too... I started it yesterday and finally finished it today <3!! gonna whip up this one request because it's super long and detailed so i gotta work on that too so thank you :D!! requests are open
Your family and your neighbors were close family friends. It all happened when you and Argyle were about to be born. Your mother needed a friend like right about now and your father needed someone to talk about future family things with him. The neighbors were a perfect fit. You and Argyle were practically destined to be friends, it was like a silent pact in the womb. Which sounds super weird and the both of you would never admit to it. One thing you’ll admit though is that you’d be there for each other.
You’d be there for each other through thick and thin. If you jumped off a cliff, Argyle would be screaming as he fell down too. You were Argyle’s first everything. First best friend, first sleepover, and first crush. Yet, he didn’t realize he had a crush on you until you were taken. He wasn’t going to ruin your relationship with your partner so he was going to be the best thing he knew how to be: a supportive friend.
He’d been by your side since the beginning of every relationship but this one was different. He saw the encounter happening with your partner yelling at you for some reason and then you suddenly ran off. You ran right into Argyle but since you were looking down wiping tears out of your face, you didn’t really notice him. Argyle thought it would be best for him not to meddle into this right now, not wanting to upset you even more.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
You trudge to bed feeling the day's problems finally hit you. Your partner broke it off with you today. They told you that you were just a nuisance to them and that they couldn’t deal with you anymore. What did you do? When did they start feeling like that towards you? You wanted to ask them but you couldn’t get the words out in time. All you did was nod your head and wished them farewell. The memories of the encounter come flooding back.
“So what, you’re not going to say anything?” They say, crossing their arms in frustration. What was there to say anyways? They said how they felt and you accepted it.
“See, shit like this is what I’m talking about. It’s infurarting, you’re acting like a fucking child!” They shout as they flail their arms around. You ran as fast as you could after that, you wished you looked up once because you ran right into someone. You muttered a quick apology as you regained yourself and ran off yet again. Tears were already streaming down your face and you couldn’t really be bothered with the pitied looks everyone gave you as you ran off.
The flashbacks make you sick to the stomach and you could feel yourself getting sick for just replaying it in your own head. As you lay in your bed, you contemplated on what should be done. Unfortunately, it was just staying in bed all weekend and avoiding any contact with your friends.
Even when Monday hit, Argyle could feel that you were still upset. You kept your head down but when you needed it the most he came and gave you a hug. It was warm and you melted into his touch. You rested your head on him and wrapped your arms around him while his arms wrapped around you. Argyle could feel tear spots going down your face and he felt you holding onto him a lot tighter. It was hurting him a lot seeing you this way. If he could, he and Jonathan would’ve gone to beat them up. You persuaded them not to say that ‘you were the problem’. Argyle called bullshit on that as soon as possible. Even Jonathan thought so too and he didn’t even know you as long as you and Argyle.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
It’s been weeks since the break up and you haven’t been getting any better. Actually, you were getting worse. Your motivation depleted and your sleep schedule was all over the place. It felt as if the only time you could ever sleep was whenever you were hanging out with Argyle and Jonathan. Argyle had his heart broken with the way you carried yourself through the school day. Honestly, you thought it shouldn’t affect you this hard but with what they spoke to you made you feel inferior. At least you’re out of the relationship or it could’ve been worse.
You got home and landed on your bed, thoughts spiraling on what to do. Read a book? You don’t have any new ones with you. Watch the show that your mom put on? She’s already episodes in and you don’t feel like catching up. What about–
A knock on your window interrupts your thoughts. You open your blinds to see Argyle standing there and the night sky behind him. You didn’t realize that your struggle on what to do made you lose track of time so easily. You open the window to hear what he has to say.
“Hey dude, I’m kidnapping you.” Argyle says. You look at him confused at where he failed the ‘kidnapping’ part.
“Argyle, what are you doing?” You question as you lean on your window.
“I’m– me, Argyle,” he says slowly, pointing to himself “ kidnapping you– you!” he says pointing now at you.
“I’m not leaving my house, Argyle.” You firmly say, hoping that he wouldn’t egg on.
“Well, it’s a good thing for me because it’s a kidnapping.” He says placing his hands on his hips.
“Argyle.”
“Bro.”
“Fine, give me a second.” You say as you succumb to his please. It’s weird how he has a way with you. You couldn’t say no to your ‘best friend’. and with that you grabbed a lighter and a jacket.
“So what do you have planned for tonight?” You ask as you hop out the window.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
He took you to some park and made his way to the playground. You both sat at the top of the playset where it was big enough for the two of you. In between you two was a cloth with your favorite chips and drinks. He told you to get as much as you want because it was ‘your kidnapping’ so you grabbed as much as you could to see if he was joking. He was not. He paid for all of the items and you felt like shit. He said not to worry about it because you’ll both be eating them all tonight anyways.
“What now, captain?” You ask him as you sit criss crossed in front of him. He smirks and pulls out a joint from his pocket. You raise your eyebrow and look at the joint.
“Don’t pull my leg right now dude, I know you got a lighter on you.” He says holding his hand out for it. You playfully roll your eyes and hand it to him. He lights the joint and takes the first hit. Holding and inhaling the smoke that filled his lungs. Soon after, the familiar feeling of cotton mouth came and a dry throat made him cough.
It’s been a while since you and Argyle smoked together. It was nice. Argyle handed you the joint and you hastily put your mouth onto the joint. You inhaled as much as you could and felt the smoke trail down your throat. Holding it in your lungs and holding it in for too long caused a raging coughing fit. You curse as you cough and all Argyle did was start to laugh at your demise.
“You piece of shit.” You attempt to say as your still coughing. Argyle quickly grabs a drink and opens it for you. He hands you the drink and quickly downed it all in an instant. While you were coughing, you mindlessly handed Argyle the joint. He takes his second hit a lot smoother than the first. Argyle hands you the joint back and tells you to be a lot more careful this time. You scoff as you take it anyways and hit it.
Thankfully your second hit was smoother than the last one and you could feel the high hit your brain. Your reaction was delayed and honestly you felt as if you were running in slow motion. No matter how hard you try to widen your eyes, your eyelids feel heavy. You contemplated on just closing them all together. That you did when you suddenly realized that you were not laying on the playset floor.
Argyle made room for himself and rested his head on your lap. Suddenly the realization hit.
“You’re so nice to me, Argyle. Why?” You whisper attempting to look at the stars but the roof top that covers the playset was in the way.
“Do I need a reason?” He chuckles. A simple yes just leaves your lips and the tension between the two of you thickens.
“Well, I have like a list of reasons. It’s not just one thing.” He shrugs.
“Like what?”
“What’s with the questions dude?” He asks looking at you and you for some reason can feel tears streaming down. He whispers, ``What's wrong?’ and ‘everythings okay.’ but for you it didn’t feel like that.
“When we broke up, they told me that I’m a nuisance. All I did was cause problems.” Your voice cracked as you began to explain the sudden tears.
“Well, you’re none of that to me,” he begins “ I think you’re the most coolest person alive, dude.” You laugh at his wording. “Yeah, dude, I mean it. You mean a lot to me. If I’m gonna be honest, you were the best thing that came into my life.”
“I could say the same thing about you, Argyle. I’m glad we met each other.” You sigh out, hoping the tear wouldn’t stop.
“I wished that I was them.” He confesses. You mutter out ‘what’ hoping he’d continue.
“I mean like, I wish that I was the one dating you.” He admits. You don’t know whether it was him being high that made him confess or something else, but you did know one thing.
“I wish it was you too.” Regret fills your veins for not noticing quicker. You wish you could’ve seen the signs.
“I know you like just got out of the relationship and you're still a bit sensitive about it but it doesn’t have to be a wish. Well, it’s not like I’m gonna leave you even if we don’t ‘date’. Friend or boyfriend, I’ll always be here for you.”
“Thank you, Argyle.” You say playing with a tiny bit of his hair.
summary: while at the beach you notice a head sticking from the sand. hmm, strange.
WARNINGS: fluff poorly poorly written fluff
a/n: when i tell you guys i literally been getting shmacked and haven't been doing nothing. then again im on a sorta vacation?? idk, all im trying to say is im sorry : (, i'll post more/when i can. love you all <33
“Alright, let’s go people!” Chandler shouts out as he waits by the front door. You grabbed your beach day essentials. Your bag is filled with sunscreen, a hair brush (just in case), water bottles, a beach towel, sunglasses and your wallet. Chandler’s girlfriend, Amy, already took the liberty to take care of the food situation, bless her heart.
Everyone was planning on taking their separate cars but you all were following each other down to the beach. Danny and his boyfriend were in his car, waiting as well. Janet and Misty rushed out of the house, making their way to their car. You, low and behold the singular one, finally got out of the house and made your way to your car.
Chandler closes the front door entrance and locks the house. He makes his way to his car with Amy sitting in it waiting for him. He hops into the passenger seat and Amy puts a thumbs up out the window. Danny puts his thumbs up, indicating he’s ready. Misty notices and puts her up as well.
All that’s left is you. You tossed your stuff into the back of your car and hopped into the driver's seat. Just as you put your car into drive and seat belt attached, you stick your thumb out. With that, Amy takes her car out of drive and makes her way out of the neighborhood and onto main roads to the beach.
Everyone follows behind her, not looking away just in case she’d take a turn and go a whole different route. Music playing through your car, you calmly watch the cars in front of you as you follow behind them.
Before you even know it, you made it to the beach. As you finally put your car into park and got out of the car, you grabbed your things and headed to find your friends. The seven of you made it to a comfortable spot and laid down all of your essentials. Chandler and Amy, as soon as they got comfortable, ran into the ocean. Danny and Sam sit on the towels that they brought and Misty and Janet start on making sand castles. All that was left was you.
You brought your shirt over your head. You put it inside of your bag and look around at what to do. You could join Misty and Janet but they already seem content with their sand castle. Danny and Sam were just laying down and talking but you don’t know what they’re talking about so it doesn’t seem appropriate to just walk into a conversation. Chandler and Amy were wrestling in the ocean. Trying to see who could drown the other first. Terrifying.
Not really wanting to ruin your friends' time together with their own partner, you decided to walk along the sand. You trudge along the sand with your bag in hand until you see something that looks vaguely like a human head. As terrifying as it sounds, it was a human head. An alive one, at most. The hair in a high bun and the poor head leaned back trying to attempt to rest.
“Hello?” You greet the head.
“Oh my god, life!” The head exclaims. You assume his body is underneath there, you don’t really hope it’s a disembodied head just chilling in the sand.
“Uhm, hello,” you start off, questions racing through your head, “are you okay?”
“Oh yeah, I’m chilling dude.” The head answers back. You introduce yourself to him and he lets you know that his name is actually Argyle. You nod your head and sit down next to his head and rustle through your bag. You pluck out your sun screen and put some onto you, you nudge it towards him silently asking if he wanted some.
“Shit, might as well.” He says, agreeing to the sunscreen. You put a dollop of sunscreen onto your hand and started applying it onto his face. “Do you want sunglasses or anything?” You ask.
“You got shades! Please, I need some.” He begs. You reach back into your bag for your glasses and place it on for him. “God–thank you, you are a lifesaver.” He says showing his gratitude.
“So, where’s your friends?” You ask Argyle.
“Oh, yeah. They’re over there.” He said, pointing with his tongue in the other direction. There you see three guys and a girl, sitting on their beach towels and eating snacks.
“Okay, so, why are you in the sand?”
“Well, I thought it would be fun, duh.” He says as if he was being clear enough. All you can do is nod your head and look left to right to watch your friends.
“Those your bros?” He asks.
“Yeah.” You answer.
“Why aren’t you hanging out with them?”
“Well, I found this random head in the ground and haven’t decided if I should leave it be or give the head some water.” You tease.
“Water! Water! Please, holy shit.” He exclaims. You laugh at his eagerness to get a swig. You reach into your bag and grab the water bottle, open it, and try to get him to drink as much as possible without drowning him.
“You really are an angel, aren’t you.” He praises.
“More like devil in disguise.” You joke. “Anything else before I head out?”
“Yeah, actually, can you help me get out of here?” Argyle asks. You widen your eyes and think about it, yet in the end, you’re already here. Might as well. You begin by trying to remove as much sand as possible around his neck. You notice barley that this progress isn’t getting anywhere.
“Wait a second, how tall you are.”
“I don’t know, like yay tall.” Argyle answers.
“Jesus christ, that could mean anything, Argyle!” You whine.
Thankfully as time slowly passed, you see that he could get at least one arm out. The two of you scream and shout at the fact that his arm is finally free and the two of you were high fiving.
Meanwhile, Danny was watching you help Argyle out. He takes notice of how you were laughing with Argyle and simply tells Janet to look at you two. The two share a pointed look and continue with their own activities again.
For what felt like ages, you got Argyle’s second arm out thank god he could pull himself out of the sand. Finally when he was freed from the sand shackles he began running around. Then, he ran towards you and lifted you into the air. The two of you were smiling wide as he was finally free. Little did you know when he was holding onto you, he was taking the two of you towards the ocean.
Next thing you know is you’re being dunked into the water. The cold water surrounds you as if it was a blanket. As you come back to get a breath of fresh air, you see Argyle already above the water. You look at him and splash him. The two of you began to splash eachother even more.
Meanwhile, Jonathan and Will are watching Argyle interact with you. Jonathan shakes his head in disbelief that his friend actually found someone to dig him out of the sand.
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
As time went on, it was time to head out. Argyle’s friends told him that they’ll be waiting for him in the van and your own said that they’re heading to their cars waiting. All that’s left is you and Argyle.
“I had a lot of fun tonight.” You say.
“Yeah, me too.” He huffs out. Argyle slowly is losing his ability to speak. This sort of thing always happens when he gets nervous.
“Do you have like a pen or something?” You ask. Argyle stands there for a second, a smile on his face not leaving, then it hits him that you asked him a question. He tells you to follow him and he walks the two of you to the van.
There you see Argyle’s friends. Well, Argyle’s friend, his siblings, and his sister's boyfriend. Argyle rustles through the van and finally finds a pen and a piece of paper. He hands it to you ever so graciously (more like out of breath and anxious) and you begin writing down your number.
“Here you go.” You say handing the piece of paper to him. He looks down at it and your number is on it.
“Uhm, when do you think I should call you? Like is there an appropriate day, or like a time where I can be, you know, calling you.” He stutters. You giggle at his nervousness and begin thinking.
“I don’t know what time I’ll be home but maybe sometime tomorrow, you can call the number and I’ll hopefully be on the line.” You suggest.
“Cool, cool, got it, super cool.” He goes on to say cool for about another thirty seconds and you take this time to leave. You wave goodbye to him as you make your way to your own car. You were smiling eye to eye and looking forward to seeing your own friends looking back at you.
“Welcome back, Juliet.” Janet teases. You groan, feeling flushed that they were watching the whole thing.
“So, we see you met a new friend.” Misty says, she smiles as she grabs your arm and intertwines with yours.
“Whatever happened to stranger danger?” Danny questions.
“It’s all forgotten if it’s love.” Sam tells him.
“Well, someone needs to fix that shit because if it was me, lord knows I’m a goner.” Danny says as he enters his car.
“Do not remember the first time we met?” Sam asks as he follows suit.
“Tell us all about him!” Amy says as she’s leaning against your door.
“I will,” you say “once we get back to someone’s house and chill.” Soon enough, all the girls headed to their designated vehicle and started them up. Everyone was following Amy yet again, driving back to her house. There in your own car, with your own feelings settling down. You figure out what to tell the group. Your cheeks were getting tired by the way you’ve been smiling ever since you left Argyle’s side.
