Aria Hopper’s Bachelorette Spinster Challenge

Submissions close on March 25th!

Well, y’all, I’m hopping on the BC train! I’ve been sitting on the idea of an elder bachelorette for a long time, now. Rules below the cut!

Ms. Aria’s hair may have turned gray, but she’s just as colorful as ever! Her family has been pushing her to try out a bachelorette for years. Aria wouldn’t say she’s lonely, as she’s got plenty to do with her grandson, Jagger, but her family just wants to see her happy with someone.

“She hasn’t dated anyone since I was in middle school.” Celia, her daughter, reports.

“She’s a firecracker and I know she’d love having someone to share that with.” Cleric, son-in-law, also reports.

Aria is excited to meet her potential suitors and get swept up in a whirlwind romance, hopefully followed by spending their retirement years causing trouble.

Rules:

All contestants must be elder or adult; Aria digs graying/gray hair.

All genders welcome!

Please use minimal CC, and only put CC in the every day and formal categories. (I’d also prefer sims that do not require custom sliders, but I understand if you can’t do that.)

NO romance trait!

NO pre-skilled sims.

Light supernaturals (in-game and faux) are okay.

All sims must be vanilla (sorry berry friends!), but they can have brightly dyed hair, if you wish.

Be creative in your backstory! It doesn’t need to be in depth, but Aria is looking for a fellow spitfire to grow old(er) with!

Phil (as she’s known to her friends & cats) looks good for her age. You wouldn’t guess that she’s nearly 70 with that face, right? Of course not. It’s all the virgin’s blood she bathes in. Haha... Just kidding......... Mostly......................... It’s the herbalism, guys. She’s obviously an alchemist. That’s why she wears the fun hat!

Phil thinks she is a Witch. She has a cauldron and everything, so NATURALLY.......... Yeah, no. She is not a Spellcaster, she just wears a fun hat! All the time!! Even to bed!!!

She once had seven cats. You know, because seven’s a magic number. She’s looking forward to adopting many, many more cats with Aria!

Before she retired, she was a professor of Medieval History. Then she took a sabbatical in Granite Falls...

Believe it or not, she’s been married before! We don’t ask about what happened to her first husband....

- Is a native of Selvadorada but moved to Willow Creek with his first wife. - His first wife passed away but left him with two children and 5 grandchildren. - He loves all of his family and hopes to make it bigger by finding love again.  - He believes his culture knows the language of love - Food is the way to the heart and Diego has the frying pan.  - He has a few distinguishing grey hairs but dyes it when it gets too white.  - He loves his mustache and knows the ladies do too.  - He hopes to get the chance to woo the lovely lady ;)

Kai is an ex-biker leader who takes no trash talk from nobody. She was in it for nearly all her life but retired when she had enough. She never married or settled down though, so the gang pretty much became her family. She spent most of her time, and still does, looking after said family. Even the new generation.

Now after dedicating herself to them for so long, they decided it was time for her to find someone just as spit fiery as herself. So they signed her up! Maybe Aria could be her partner in crime? Who knows~

She loves causing a bit of mischief and egging on the kids destructive mannerisms. It’s just a bit of harmless fun to her. She’s always loved the guitar though and hopes that in her retirement she can produce a few songs to put out into the world.

As one of the world’s most accomplished special agents, Alister Ward has experienced more excitement and adventure than most. After 40 years of intrigue, he retired with a new name and face and has settled down.

It has been a difficult change for him though. He remembers the old days wistfully while being all too reminded of what they’ve cost him - the chance to have a partner to share his life with. Aria Hopper’s Bachelorette Spinster Challenge has given him hope though. His heart skipped a beat when he saw her! Could Aria be his last and most important adventure?

Johnathan De Iuliis for @fishingforvanillas BC!

John De Iuliis is a successful businessman, though he rarely goes into the office these days, he still has a large guiding hand in the business, now in the process of being fully passed on to his eldest niece, Rebecca.

During high school and college, John made little time for others, focusing on his studies.  He was determined to be successful in business.  This meant with the exception of his twin brother, Micah, he didn’t really have many friends.

As an introvert who preferred to keep to himself, he didn’t mind.  His brother was a social butterfly, with many friends and as many admirers.  He was Micah’s best man when he married one of his many suitors, a lovely, if stern, woman named Amelia.

Micah and Amelia had three children, Rebecca, Alexis, and Caeden, before they were killed in a plane crash.  John took in his nieces and nephew, despite having no wish to be a parent, or any idea how.

He worked harder to provide for them, and did his best to try and make time, though he was emotionally distant from his own grief, and his own awkwardness.

All three are adults, and Rebecca married with a child of her own, and Alexis off exploring various wildernesses, never in one place too long.  Caeden resides with John because he worries about him being alone in his old age, though John assures him he’d be fine.  Caeden also is the one that pressed for him to enter the competition, in order to finally find someone to spend the rest of his life with.
