how long will steven be stuck as a dragon?

Well, I don't have an answer on how long exactly it'll take, but I can say is what it'll take for him to turn back. See, his powers are tied to his mental state, right? Just as in the show. So while he can practice on his other powers all he likes in the wilderness, he can't turn human if he's disconnected from humanity, which, after getting chased out and spending years away from it, he super will be. But Connie returning, a fellow human and childhood friend there to remind him of it, bringing him news on what he's missed, offering him ties to it after all this time? That will definitely be key. And I imagine it will be a gradual progression to a more human state, not a singular transformation.

Thematically tho, I wanna add that the goal would not be for him to somehow get rid of his dragon form, like it's a curse. It's a part of him, just like his human one. It just... came out on some rather unfortunate and limiting circumstances. He's gonna need to find a balance, and acceptance, in both himself and others, to feel truly whole.
