I’d never heard of a yarn bowl before this..and now…I WANT ONE! Although, I don’t know how useful they would be either…but they are cute!
Aren't they just? SO pretty! I saw one with a big handle and thought it was just so adorable....but, even more pointless, because I wouldn't carry it around, even if I had one lol

I’ve seen some awesome yarn bowls.. I think I’d like one, but some are sooo pricey.. I’d rather make my own.
Yeah. Or just not have one at all. I rarely use yarn cakes anyway. I do use hand wound tidbits, though.

I LOVE my yarn bowl! But it pretty much lives by my couch, so whatever yarn is in there is staying put until the project’s done.
That's where mine would live if I had one! (BTW's, you should totally submit a photo of yours!)

Just use an old jar one cut a hole in the top, cheaper and you can decorate in your own way. They’re kinds pointless anyway in my opinion.

I agree they are pretty, but I just use a gallon ziplock bag. I pull the yarn through an unsealed corner.
Right on! I kinda just set mine next to me. If it's wound into a non-center-pull ball, and happens to roll off the couch, I have a 3 year old to retrieve it. :p

Nope, and the ones I’ve seen are breakable which makes me imagine pulling on yarn, and somehow smashing it. Bad idea, for me at least.
Yeah, I'd be nervous about that, too. Especially since I have a young child that's usually in the same room, and likes to "fix" things with my crochet hooks, and yarn, and such. ;)
