Taylor’s Traits 

AKA, I finally made my own sides, but I’m calling them traits just because it alliterates and I’m a sucker for alliteration XD. Because I am very rudimentary and slow at drawing people, I made them using a dressup game, so for now they are all stuck in the same pose. The pose doesn’t necessarily fit their personalities well, but the hair and clothes do for sure. I’ll probably use these as refs if I ever do decide to draw them.

Ariyana, AKA, Creativity:

Ariyana is extremely imaginative, and always has her head in the clouds, dreaming up yet another new idea. She wants to try ALL the things. Music, writing, poetry, drawing, painting, jewelry making, composing, acting, interior design, fashion, she wants to do it ALL. She has a hard time focusing on just one idea, which often leaves dozens of projects started and very few finished. She’s also responsible for daydreaming, general imagination, and a good portion of self esteem. 

Dael, AKA, Logic:

Dael embodies logical thinking and knowledge, and she takes her job very seriously. She appears much more “put-together” than the other traits, but don’t be fooled, she is just as likely to go off the rails on some tangent that is Very Important to the conversation! Everything ties together logically in the end, though she is often cut off before she gets to that point, which frustrates her to no end, because now she just looks silly and scatterbrained! When there was a Point! She loves mental exercises and learning new things, and is always super excited when she gets the chance to share a new piece of knowledge. Craves structure, but unfortunately is outnumbered on that front, and is often the one trying to tie everyone else down into one place so actual work can get done. Is responsible for general productivity as well as the parts of self-esteem that Ariyana doesn’t cover and the logical aspects of Morality. 

Ellie, AKA, Sentiment: 

Ellie embodies a LOT of traits, but they all center around my emotional core. Sentimentality/Nostalgia, Compassion/Kindness, Emotional Awareness and Empathy, the emotional aspects of Morality, Whimsy, and Childlike Wonder. While everyone works together a fair amount, Ellie joins forces with the others the most, and she loves all of the others very much. She can be a bit spacey on her own, though by no means is unintelligent, so she appreciates the grounding presence the others bring, especially Dael or Claire. 

Claire, AKA, Preservation: 

Claire is Self-preservation, and is all about the comfort zone. She doesn’t like to deviate from where she is comfortable if she can help it. She is one of the two biggest introverts in the mindscape, the other being Leah. Unfortunately, her desire to protect from the world combined with her desire to stay in the comfort zone often manifests as HIDING from the world, which can lead her to be very stressed/tired, since she doesn’t want to confront responsibilities that she also places a lot of importance on, but she’s trying her best.

Leah, AKA, Insecurity: 

Leah is Insecurity and Negative Self-talk. While she has some individual functions, she is more of an overlapper; she combines with the others and amplifies their own insecurities or negative traits. This is not fun for anybody.

Lean overlaps the MOST with Claire though. She’s sort of an offshooting of Claire, as it were, and she can warp Claire’s functions very easily. Leah can take everyone’s individual contributions and warp them to create Executive Dysfunction. Despite Claire often being the one to place importance on tasks (self-preservation, if task is not done then bad will happen), her desire for comfort and fear of failure make her very susceptible to Leah’s influence, which often leads to nothing getting done. Leah is just 100% convinced that everything is horrible all the time, and that this makes trying pointless. She is very tricky to deal with, but is not malicious, merely misguided.

Friday Night Fights 1/15/21

Ariyana hadn’t seen her girlfr—partner all day, during any of the times they would normally walk together. They didn’t show at lunch, and they weren’t at practice. She was… really worried, if she was being perfectly honest.

That worry was what dragged her here, to MiKaila’s driveway.

She parked her car, walking along the edge of the house until she got to MiKaila’s window.

Ariyana knocked on the glass.

Wide blue eyes peeked out of the window, framed by lilac dyed hair and a nervous, twitching pair of lilac ears.

MiKaila opened the window, leaning out. “Ari? What are you doing here?”

“I came to see you, silly. Are you feeling alright?”

MiKaila ducked their head. “Right, sorry for not being at school, I just… needed space.”

“Did I do something?”

They shook their head frantically. “No, no. Of course not.”

Ariyana frowned, leaning against the window frame. “Then what happened?”

MiKaila pursed their lips.

“Are you at least going to be at school tomorrow?”

They shrugged.

Ariyana sighed. “You’ll have to come out of there eventually.”

“As you’ve noticed, I’m not exactly spectacular at the coming-out thing.”

“So is that what this is about? Yesterday?”

MiKaila winced. “I mean… yeah, kinda. We’ve been dating for almost half a year, it wasn’t fair for me to keep that from you for so long.”

“You just weren’t ready yet, I don’t mind.”

“But…” they looked away. “It changes things, doesn’t it?”

Ariyana shrugged. “Yes, it does. Like which pronouns you want me to use, or what I should call you other than my girlfriend. Since you’re not a girl.”

“Oh, I…” MiKaila smiled, small and genuine. “Thank you. Would you like to come inside?”

Ariyana shook her head, leaning into the window frame. “No, I need to be home for dinner soon. While I’m here, though… may I have a kiss?”

“You may,” they replied, leaning out and kissing their girlfriend.
