I want to write fanfiction about the movie Thalapathi. Only, NOT about the fabled Surya/Devaraj bond. I couldn't care less about either of them, or their parallels to the Mahabharata. In fact, I rather obviously loathe one of those.
Nope. I want to pick up a character the movie all but discarded or used as a prop. Arjun. And explore his life from the moment he notices his office clerk (Subbulakshmi's father) being uneasy, to him marrying her (I HC he knew she had some past, if not exactly what) to maybe a little girl who clings to appa. Still in the thought cloud stage.
