Visual of the bird that brought the first sign of land to Noah! Ark Encounter #arkkentucky #arkencounter #arkencounter2016
Our trip has officially started #arkencounter2016 #answersingenesis #jovenes2016
Day 7: What does modern science and technology say about the ideal shape of vessel for an ark with the cubic volume stated in the Bible? Engineer Dr. Werner Gitt ran theoretical models on a modern supercomputer to determine the perfect shape for the ark based on the factors of stability and economy. What did he find? The perfect ark shape providing the most possible stability, but using the least possible material, is exactly the dimensions found in the Bible! All of God's ways are perfect! (Excuse the poor photo quality. This ark exhibit was in a very low lit area. The ark is not finished.)
Day 6: Here we are fresh off the bus getting our closest views yet of the ark. She’s the largest timber-frame structure in the world, spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high! Impressive, even when you’ve read the stats before you see her!
Day 5: Conceptualization of Japheth's living quarters. They had never seen rain of this volume before. They had never been in a flood. They had never seen such cataclysmic natural forces. They had never been captains of an ark. They had never cared for such a huge variety of animals. They had never experienced the loss of all humanity. But, why not such a peaceful scene as this? Our God is a God of peace. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." Isaiah 26:3 Are you at peace in your circumstances today? Trust the LORD.
Day 4: The Bow. We enjoyed watching them add the last planks to the starboard side; made us wonder what the technology of their day looked like. Theirs was probably more advanced, although I doubt they had that can of rustoleum. As we approached, all we could do was look up and marvel at the immensity of the ark. The last picture is looking straight up from under the bow. Check out the size of the bolt B is holding!!
Day 3: E.M. Bounds says, “The Bible does not enter into an argument to prove the being and person of God. It assumes His being and reveals His person and character. Without preface and introduction, the Bible brings God before us in all His majesty and omnipotence. God was at the world’s beginning, and He created the beginning of all things. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1) How sublime and inspiring is our first glimpse of God! God is revealed not by argument, but by work. We learn what He is from what He does.
The revelation of the Devil is the same. He is presented without introduction or ceremony as the Evil One, a graduate of the school of deception and evil. The curtain is drawn, and the chief actor is in full dress. A world is at stake; man is to be seduced; Eden is to be corrupted.”
The Bible tells us to simply “repent and believe.” Repent. Believe. Simple, yet profound. “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30) And, if we do not, “No, I tell you, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3) But, we don’t have to perish. God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins, that if we believe on Him, we will be saved. “Therefore, repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:19) Isn’t God so gracious to give us His Son, forgiveness, life and, if that were not enough, times of refreshing and His Very Presence!? Whom will you believe? Our gracious God, or the Devil, the Deceiver?
Day 2: Unfortunately, we did not take any wide angle shots to give an idea of the numbers of animal chambers on the ark. However, the variety is reflective of the uniqueness and diversity of the different animal kinds housed there. God is a God of order, utility and beauty.
