Since Mod-A is away, I've been using some of my time finding resources since I myself have been working on my own characters as well as design some new ones.
I was linked to this site a while back by some fellow friends and it is definitely hands down the best website to look up animals that you never heard of before as well as learning about their current status in the wild. This website also includes Geography and Eco-Regions which can be used for world building.
Definite suggest this site for our followers since this resource can be used for just about every fandom out there as well as people creating their own original series.
