Just finished Pokemon Legends Arceus 100% just now.

when we were at the crayfish boil this weekend me and some of my friends were arguing over whether arceus is pronounced with a hard or soft c, this goes on for a good 5 minutes before one of the adults passed by and goes "you're all wrong its arcoos" and leaves

I saw a meme spelling that pronunciation "Arkoos" from the subreddit so I prefer that over "arcoos".

Also, the correct answer for Arceus is a hard C because a soft C results in it sounding like the British word for ass and the words it comes from use hard C.

Also, fun fact, Latin used a hard C so Caesar was pronounced "Kai-sar", not "See-sar".
