Sihyun had been passing by a bakery that sold his favorite sweets earlier and before he could think twice about it he’d gotten a few extra pastries packaged up and decided to pay a visit to his best friend. He hadn’t seen Florian since the festivities of the new year since he’d thrown himself into his work as soon as he got back, worried that he’d been gone for too long. Everything had been okay, of course, but Sihyun always felt uncomfortable when he was away from work for too long. So with a bag of pastries in hand, he makes the short trek to Florian’s house.
He’s made it the front steps of his best friend’s house when he notices someone coming out and once Sihyun realizes who it is he frowns. He hadn’t seen Arlo since before Christmas when the other had run away after the conversation they had. He’d run after him, of course he had, but it had been like Arlo had disappeared into the streets of Vienna and in the days after he’d ignored Sihyun’s messages and calls. That had hurt quite a lot.
Here, he watches as Arlo steps out into the porch wearing what Sihyun knows for a fact is something from the new Saint Laurent fall line and his frown deepens. He knows that can’t possibly be something Arlo owns and surely he didn’t steal from Beau because who would want to be in Beau’s presence for that long even if the end goal was to steal from him? And so finally, finally, Sihyun realizes what’s going on, what’s been going on for a while, probably. Arlo had mentioned he was seeing someone when they’d talked so he’s not surprised and he’s not jealous, he’s not. The acid settling in his stomach is not jealousy. “Hey,” he says, tentatively, unsure how to even speak to his friend these days.
