Arm Anatomy Practice
The arm is one of the body parts I struggle with the most, simply due to their proportions changing due to the person, as well as their experiences. Also a length and angular issue in terms of my understanding.
I will be looking into 3 main angles, one extended from the front, hand to the side, another from the same angle, hand pointed at the camera, and a third with the arm bent; here are the images I used.
I then traced the musculature lines, and found that there were small "yin-yang"-esc looking muscles that form the 2 lengths of the arm.
I then gave a more basic outline of the joints so that I can understand the length between them. But it also allowed me to, when overlayed, see how the joints meet the muscles.
I then sketched these arms with these blueprints as references for the musculature.
I am now going to try and memorise the anatomy by drawing these from memory.
Here you can see I'm still very new to the arm's anatomy, and due to this, Even the simplified shapes I got wrong, however I believe I am getting there!
“No. James. No. I chose this,” he rips his sleeve back, the dark ink on his forearm violent in a way that James never could have imagined.
He physically shrinks away from it, feeling something inside him crumble.
“I chose it,” Regulus says again, voice finally breaking—finally exposing him.

a way i figured out how to simplify the bones + muscles in the forearm in a way that makes sense to me, twisty, tricky lil devils. it’s odd to keep in mind that the “resting position” of the arm(?) if that’s what you call it(?) is the palm facing out/forwards after thinking of the arm a certain way all my life pre-study. ths helps me remember where the ends of the bones r attached basically.
Made an arm chart, what's your fav type?
Sorry there aren't more body types, i can only really draw muscles But!!! Feel free to share your favorite arm drawings!!! I love arm!!!!!!
