[@armatii] Reiner had been agonising over this for days. Even after the eager encouragement of Bertholdt, he still wasn’t sure if he was doing the right thing.

For all his decisiveness on the battlefield and in training, this particular aspect of his life left him unsure, doubting. Maybe it was because he and Eren were such close friends and he didn’t want to jeopardise that; he didn’t know what he’d do if he lost his best friend over this.

Even so, he’d already bought his gift—using the privileges that came with being an Honorary Marleyan to shop outside of the Zone—and he supposed he could blow it off as nothing if it didn’t go the way he wanted... which was likely when it came to Eren. Even if it happened to be that day.

“Eren!” he called out when he saw the younger boy, breaking into a light, effortless jog to meet him. “I got you something... Here.” With that, he presented him with a generously sized box of chocolates, decorated with a wide ribbon tied into a large bow. [Warrior!AU; 18 y/o Reiner; Valentine’s Day~]

A smile, bright and untamed, spread across the young brunet’s face, and he waved briefly as the larger, older boy trotted across the street.  His smile widened further until he was full-on grinning, drawn into his friend’s strangely nervous, excited body language. He tilted his head back, eyes shining with curiosity. “Hey, how are y—” He was abruptly cut off by a large-sized, black box being hastily thrust forward and held out to him. Bewildered into silence, Eren simply stared down at it, blinking owlishly.. “U-Um..” He reached out obligingly, as it following a conditioned muscle reflex to accept things offered to him without thinking it over first. He observed the box, his brows furrowing, and he glanced up at Reiner.

“What is it? And, um.. I didn’t get you anything. Should I have?”
