How do you build a pilgrimage?

Just a dumb idea, I'd like to build an 'army' of imperial citizens on pilgrimage.

Some of the sisters of battle lore (I think?) use to be they protected pilgrims, accompanying them on the journey. That would be the core, a HQ and some squads.

The rest would be house cawdor from necromunda, littered with individual models from other ranges. There's some age of sigmar models I'd like to use. I suppose this would be the imperial guard list.

Now, I don't know if this possible in the current rules, there use to be detachment rules were you could mix different armies.

I don't think I've had a dumb idea for a while, I miss them.

I have read Badab War more than I can remember, and it may be that I had "Red Corsairs are cool" blinders on...but I somehow missed how bad ass the Star Phantoms are.

And Now I want to make an army.

Warhammer army idea -

A knight house that has been seduced by a gene stealer cult. The lord/lady has been seduced by a member if the cult genetically engineered to be their perfect partner and they now rage an ending war in their sector to conquer as their lover has convinced them of the many armed emperor and his desire to bring the sector into compliance for the day of ascension.

I like this idea purely because as a knight house it can be any combination the player wants. A straight couple, gay couple, plutonic friends. You can spice it up with tragedy by having their partner die or be assassinated at some point and as a knight house honor above all else it is lore accurate to have them conquer and fight to uphold an oath or honor against their enemies even if they are the imperium or chaos enemy. The knight house can be rogue knights at some point or even fall to chaos as the house slowly unravels in their quest. You could also add some drama with the nids arriving and the ruse being exposed or embrace the tradition and have the cult join the knights as the agent falls for the knight lord/lady proper

It also gives an excuse to put a gene stealer cult banner on a knight or have gene stealers hanging off its carapace.

Night lord army concept

I'm thinking of running the following as a night lords army. Lightning claw lord/jump pack 2 squads 10 chaos marines in rhinos 2 squads of 10 raptors, 2 meltas each 2 vindicators 1 mauler fiend I'd stick the lord with one of the raptor squads and have them follow the advancing tanks. Jump over the tanks and assault once they soften up targets. I'd also put dirge casters on every tank, to prevent over watch. Any thoughts?
